I tore an ACL in high school when my cleat stuck so I hope that didn't happen to Teel.

The "setback" while running sounds like the hamstring may have been re-injured to some degree. Anyway, whatever happened there seems to have created another uncertain timeline. As a fan, I wish someo

Were you on a team, or did this happen at the shoe store?

Why do you think he's a dirt expert?

On White Sox postgame, they reported that Will said the knee will definitely set Kyle back. He (& staff) wants Kyle to catch all 9 innings at least twice before bringing him up. Good time for Edgar to get hot.

“I’ll have you know that I scored four touchdowns for Polk High in a single game on a torn ACL.”

We need Teel back healthy ASAP. Quero and Romo defense has been very mediocre, particularly catching the ball behind the plate and also poor on ABS challenges.

See you in 2028

All catcher defense is "mediocre". Can we stop pretending that there's some tier of catching defense that 29 other teams have solved? Like, seriously, if you're watching a major league catcher, and thinking, "this fucker's got nothing on me", go to Sox Park, and audition.

Okay. A bit overserved.

Is there a video of Teel injuring his knee?

Ok PCA.

For those keeping score at home:

Hays recalled from rehab early, clearly not ready, ends up back on the IL, going out for a assignment again.

Berroa sent to rehab, makes it six pitches, back out again.

Teel, hurt during ramp up, and then again during rehab.

These aren’t coincidences anymore. They are repeated occurrences.

Jeez, the guy called their defense mediocre. He didn’t just completely s%*# on Sox catchers like you just did on Sox fans. He also never compared himself or his own talent to Sox catchers. So baseball fans can’t critique players now?

I don’t think Teel catching a spike requires a fall guy. Berroa not really sure what the details are. Hays was definitely rushed back and it bit them.

Welp we had better fire all of those non-baseball people commentating on baseball games like John Schiffren, Len Kasper, Jason Benetti, etc, after all they never played the game professionally, what do they know?

Across professional sports, there's about 30-40% rate of reinjury within the same season with hamstring injuries. Even higher when you add in other injuries to the same leg that may come from compensation. It is not necessarily an indictment of the White Sox if a guy has a nagging issue with the hamstring (especially Austin Hays of all people). Let's wait and see what we hear on Teel. In context, Venable's comment about a setback seemed to just be acknowledging the fact he wouldn't join the team in Seattle as they originally expected. Whether this costs him a couple days, a week, or more is TBD. Although they could be hiding the ball, if the knee injury was serious (like an ACL) the trainer would have known from a physical exam the moment it happened.

Berroa was throwing in Arizona for months. The next part of the rehab was pitching in games. What should they have done instead? Austin Hays is always injured. It's why he was so cheap. I'm guessing he'll be injured again too.

I realize these guys are injury-prone, but it sure seems like Hays wasn’t completely healthy when they brought him back, similar to when Tauchman was brought back too early last season and looked like he could barely run the bases, and then reinjured himself.

He didn't. I was out of line.

I really fucking hope he didn't tear his meniscus. That's the worry here. You aren't going to rip an ACL swinging.

Just think if we couldn’t make fun of players. That would be a month of good jokes about Reese McGuire eliminated. And if he actually read this board, he would have probably been shamed into never publicly masturbating again. The board was actually looking out for the rest of humanity.

Fisk was a taller catcher that was not muscle bound but had a lot of flexibility and cat-like quickness behind the plate. As an old White Sox fan, I always admired his abilities behind the plate.

Teel focused on weight lifting and gained 20 pounds in the off-season, in part due to eating sub sandwiches at his Godfather's deli. Kyle said he did it to gain more power, but that had to make him a tad slower and had to put a bit more strain on the legs.

I'm not even sure what set me off on that one. Romo and Quero are mediocre.

Romo has earned his paycheck so far and hopefully Quero just had his slumpbuster game without having to do a slumpbuster the Mark Grace way…
