McDougal threw a side session today, went well. Shane Smith back throwing and "progressing well."

Wiki is in AZ. Set to throw in 2 games this week and then progress from there.

Shane Smith returning to his 2025 form at some point would really change the complexion of the rotation.

Sounds like Teel will begin his rehab assignment on Tuesday and Schultz shouldn’t be too far behind him. Hopefully we aren’t too far away from getting Romo & Rock off this roster.

Clearly, we’re all mostly focused on Noah, Mune, and Teel coming back. Buttt….

if Shane Smith gets back to form and Hagen keeps it up, we could plug 2 SP slots.

You get Tanner back healthy, he and his velocity could fit in perfectly in the pen as a bridge to Taylor.

The pieces are in place on the 40-man to possibly supplement this team greatly.

Hagen very much did not keep it up yesterday, sadly.

I doubt it is different than any other team. Outside of pitchers I think the Sox are in a much better position of minor le.ague depth than in the past. Even though the Sox OF is not a strength they are much better than the days of Vaughn and Sheets playing the OF.

The hamstring injuries jeopardize everything.

The view of the skyline in Charlotte is so damn cool.

FYI looks like Mune is traveling with the team on this road trip

Update: Five players expected to start rehab assignments this week. Sounds like Wikelman is throwing in Arizona, so he shouldn’t be too far from starting a formal one either. Murakami progressing well and may be on the shorter end of his 4 to 6 week timeline if things continue to progress well. Hays is temporarily shutdown as the Sox try to figure out the cause of his hamstring problems. No major updates on the other pitchers, other than Thorpe is actively throwing.

IL - Rehab Assignment:

  • Teel, CA - LCL (5/19)

  • Schultz, LHP - Patellar (5/24)

  • Hicks, RHP - Lat (5/20)

  • S. Smith, RHP - Rotator Cuff (5/3)

  • McDougal, RHP - Flexor (4/29

10/15 Day IL:

  • Murakami, 1B - Hamstring (5/29)

  • Gilbert, LHP - Shoulder (6/9)

AAA IL:

  • Gonzalez, RHP - Lat (4/30)

60 Day IL:

  • Hays, OF - Calf (5/1)

  • Bush, LHP - Shoulder (Apr/May)

  • Thorpe, RHP - Appendix (Apr/May)

  • Berroa, RHP - Elbow (Apr/May)

  • Leasure, RHP - Forearm (5/27)

Out for Season:

  • Baldwin, UT - Elbow (4/1)

  • Murray, IF - Shoulder (4/26)

  • Vasil, RHP - TJS (Mar)

Edited by Chicago White Sox

I’d like to know more info on Berroa. He made one rehab appearance in Arizona, pitched to one batter, got pulled, and then there hasn’t been any info on him since.

Berroa was shutdown with elbow soreness. Unclear if he’s even throwing again or not, but not a great sign coming off TJS unfortunately.

Time to update the injury tracker.

Huge news on Wikelman. He was getting close to snagging to bullpen role with the Sox before the lat injury…hopefully he can find his form fast and force his way onto the major league club.

Of course they did. It was a great effort, but this guy has to log a couple of innings in a Sox uniform, even if it kills him.

Seems like one of those players that will never stay healthy. Kind of wish they didn’t trade Hill.

I would actually prefer Dru Baker, but he’s not on the 40 man.
