Trevor Bauer is an awful clubhouse fit even if you believe him innocent of any criminal wrongdoing. I also don’t understand why anyone would think a 35 year old pitching in the Nippon League or where

Gonzo can go back down to Charlotte and stop his arb clock once Mune is back. That's fine. He just got a nice pay pump for 6 weeks or whatever and now he knows he close he is and what he has to contin

They wouldn't get the comp pick. You have to be on the same team in the majors for the full season prior to free agency.

I don’t even really know what this means. How can they trade for any sort of difference makers without parting with notable prospects? If they are just trading Colby Shelton types or whatever, I can’t imagine them getting anyone that good.

Top prospects can be a loose term here. They can trade out of their top 25 and have their top 5 or so off limits. They could easily add a veteran starting pitcher that isn't committed beyond 2026 and not give up much.

They probably won't be getting a difference maker. It sure doesn't sound like they are going all-in. It doesn't help that they have maybe one top 100 prospect at this point in Bonemer. The farm has not been good this year outside the players they've graduated to the Bigs.

Unless they are willing to pick up large amounts of contracts, it means absolutely nothing. You either have to give up valuable prospects, or you have to assume large financial burdens to get players. If we aren't willing to do either, we are shopping in the discount bin to "add". Granted in places like the pen and rotation, it wouldn't take much to "add", but it won't be front line guys.

Our Sox don't shop in the discount bin....................they live there.

Top prospects rarely get traded at the deadline now and even less so for rentals.

I don't want Chapman primarily for clubhouse reasons, but he also threw the quickest yes hitter I think I've ever seen tonight.

Came in with a 2-0 lead vs. the Rockies, gave up 4 straight hits (3 singles and a triple) for 3 ER to lose the game on 8 pitches without recording an out. Some BABIP luck for the Rockies after they ran themselves out of the previous inning where they also got 4 straight hits.

Hey, at least this lowers his asking price, no? lol

It didn't happen in 24, but it did happen in 2025.

deVries Miller trade truly a rarity

half those deals involve Preller... first for Juan Soto was by far the wildest package

They can deal for upgrades without them dealing top prospects. They’d be of the rental variety.
