Really? For our top prospects just go ahead and do whatever?

We have no excuse not to buy a top-end SP in free agency this offseason. As such, I’d rather keep Bonemer and go with a cheaper SP at the deadline. I truly believe we should not be doing “all-in” trad

Trevor Bauer is an awful clubhouse fit even if you believe him innocent of any criminal wrongdoing. I also don’t understand why anyone would think a 35 year old pitching in the Nippon League or where

Your team needs you. Big stakes. Time arrives, Thats why you were drafted. Cinch it up and hunker down (forgot that one). Can’t be afraid of putting tour talent out there. And the fans are irrelevant.

Mariners wouldn’t do it, but it’s not the worst idea. If you extend Mune, there becomes an odd man out.

You're probably right; we'd have to add something and they still may not want to give up Sloan. But at least you can get a fair shake out of DiPoto.

We'll have Roch and Carlson should be a defensive beast. Colson's tepid OBP is concerning. I think Meidroth might be an overall better player by next season. Overall, I think the 2 prospects have the ceiling

That springer shout is intriguing.

Your dislike of Detmers almost feels personal lol.

He was rushed to the bigs as a 21 year old, and has had to learn everything at this level. His slider and fastball are both ++ imo and his other 3 pitches are league average at worse.

I think he has a great second half of his career. Not quite a wheeler like resurgence post 28, but still think it'll be a top 15ish starter over a 3-5 year period type run.

lol I think he's a fine pitcher, his breaking stuff is nasty, I just think it's wild for a rebuilding team (the White Sox) to give up big assets for someone who is at best a third starter. The focus is on Detmers because that's the only guy this board will talk about. And is a realistic acquisition unlike Skubal. We've been burned by this idea too many times before. Teams get burned this way all the time. I think they're going to be more shrewd this deadline. Look what it took to get Connelly Early, that's closer to Detmers's value meanwhile I think some among us are valuing him closer to Crochet. It just seems like a misevaluation of his talent level regardless of the control or whatever.

There's a very realistic chance that we jettison several of our top prospective talents and still finish 4th place in the division even if Detmers is lights out the rest of the season as a Sock. Urquidy and Haase are nice pickups to me for the state this team is in. I'm OK with giving up real assets for a player like Hunter Goodman. Don't rush the rebuild!

Wanted him as our RF when he was a free agent. Would have to be a salary dump now. It does look like he’s been better of late though.

Alright, we won let's do this lol

Now that Silseth's off the market, everyone can move on to their Plan B's, and the dominoes will start to fall.

There's a very real possibility that had we lost this game, the outlook at the deadline could be very different. Especially if a win like this gets the team going in the right direction again.

This team still hasn't lost more than 3 in a row all year, but it'd be kind of hard to justify buying big at the deadline if you get swept by the Yankees without their 3 best hitters.

He also doesn't really play defense anymore. But he would be a very good Grichuk replacement.

He would be owed about 7.5 million the rest of the year. That is not something Jerry will do. Plus I dont think he is really any better than any of our OF. Peters is struggling but his D is still elite. I would take Sam and Braden over him and Beni is hitting better and is the veteran presence in the lineup. I guess he could be your right sided DH with Beni. He isnt much of an upgrade from Grichuk at this point in his career.

Did you just call a team that will be in 1st place on August 1st a rebuilding team?

He is hitting .275 the last 30 games, .288 the last 15 with 4 HR. He would be a good guy to platoon with Beni instead of Grichuk. He hasn't played the OF except for once all year so would really limit the bench

They have already said they are willing to take on payroll.
