Jesse just reiterated they are trying for a catcher and he doesn't think the Sox are done. He just said the Reds are asking a silly price and it might come down to the end when the price comes down.

Reds haven't traded any of their expiring contracts.

Feel like framing matters less though in the era of ABS. As far as Nightengale, he has been so full of crap this trade deadline.

Still the single most important catcher skill (besides hitting of course). Challenges can help you right up until the ball gets outside the zone. Then you want your framer getting those pitches called strikes, knowing that hitters rarely get them overturned (and if they know you have a good framer, they're more likely to waste challenges).

That being said, Stephenson is a top shelf challenger, so it certainly helps mitigate his issues. I wonder if he'd be amenable to the Sox "let it rip" strategy.
