That's psychotic nature. That's why hometown fans cheer when a no-hitter's broken up. I really can't understand the mindset of people who demand their fellow fans be "embarrassed" by losing, but root for the extremes. Liptak isn't a fan. I imagine he's still dealing with some Freudian thing with his dad where he needs the team he was brought up to root for to be deflowered by every other team he hates. Maybe he should talk to his therapist about that. Maybe you and Lippy can do couples therapy. I hear that's helpful.

10 hours ago10 hr I find it odd that there seems to be a good amount of posters who didn’t want to see a perfect game tonight.I mean, I’m not upset at all that it didn’t happen but it would have been cool. If it’s only a few outs away I don’t care what teams are playing, I’m rooting for history and especially would enjoy sharing that moment with my son.

All their coaches GMs and owners are clearly psychotic as well. It's actually called strategy. Edited 10 hours ago10 hr by caulfield12

Go perfect game the Padres 3 nights in a row. I'm sure our friend would certainly root for that.

I have no idea what TexSox and Ptac have to do with this discussion. Yes, Celtic fans should be rooting against their team being dunked on. I really don't get you guys rooting for other teams to take the Sox' lunch money, then shaming everybody else because another team took the Sox' lunch money. You're basically rooting for the Sox to get cucked so that you can appear to be superior to everyone else here. How about you smack yourself in the balls with a hammer, then shame yourself in the mirror? I'm fine rooting against a no hitter. You don't get grist for the mill.

You don't get grist for the mill. That last place finish in 2025 is a large part of the reason why they're now drafting 1-1.Would it be better to have won more games last year and likely ended up with Emerson/Lackey/Flora/Lombard instead? What is the "excitement value" to the fanbase in having that 1-1 pick to speculate upon ever since December, when no major free agents were close to being signed other than Murakami, who almost randomly fell into their laps at the last second...as his agent reached out to the Sox first as all other 1-2 year contract options evaporated.

8 hours ago8 hr Peter's blast was a morale booster for a team that has already shown that it has a never say die attitude. Never, never surrender an at-bat for any reason including handing a pitcher a no-hitter. Give Peters credit. That at-bat took some gorliones. He squared up a 99 mph fastball and deposited it in the seats. Boom ba-boom boom boom, cancel the post-game show and see them on Sunday.

3 hours ago3 hr As a totally biased Sox fan I could never cheer for the Sox to get no hit or a perfect game thrown at them. That doesn't make me right and someone cheering for the perfect game wrong.

Me and the boys went yesterday. We all got together after years of not seeing each other other than individually. One of them is a Cubs fan. The other had a Mexico jersey on. I knew we were doomed from the start.
