Some people just need to understand that when you have a young up and coming team you’re going to have growing pains and lulls that require patience.

There isn’t a reason to panic and never has been… just like there isn’t any reason to expect them to win the World Series this year.

People need to back away from the ledge, take a breath, and calm to f*** down.

A lot of truth in what you are saying but also asking Sox fans for patience is a hard sell.

The record since 2007 speaks for itself.

Romo cannot be on this roster after the all-star break.

  • Theres a point where patience isn’t warranted and there is a point where it IS warranted… The KW / Hahn era with flashy overrated sissy bitches obviously got to the point where all criticism was 100%

What could the 2026 White Sox do to become "an embarrassment?"

Bottom out and fall apart in the last 80 games, which could happen for a young team especially if they get more injuries.

Not saying it will happen but it could although I don't think it likely but we'll see. They have been on a downward trajectory the past 22 games.

The KW / Hahn era with flashy overrated sissy bitches obviously got to the point where all criticism was 100% deserved.

This year however, you look at this team and when they get swept and go through a three or four week period where there is regression - you just tolerate it.

Today isn’t a day to jump ship - it’s a day to be stoked that in two days we’ll stock the shelves and it’s also a good time to celebrate playing to a .500 clip while our best offensive threat has been out.

Perfect time to get a shot of Mune injected into the team.

Hell, these guys still haven’t lost four straight all season - if they do lose tomorrow that’ll be the first time all year.

My hope is that we start seeing cleaner baseball and better execution again for the last series before the break and that it continues when the break is over.

These dudes have been through a LOT this past month and in some ways, still haven’t lost an ability to surpass our expectations.

They weren't supposed to be in this position in the first place, but here we are... now they need to take advantage of it. That's what is frustrating.

Eh I think they’re playing with house money this season.

Sure, it’d obviously be great if they stayed competitive and made the playoffs.

I don’t think it’s the colossal failure you’re making it out to be if they don’t, though.

People are so hysterical and short sided. Jesus.

Exactly. Moron central.

Unfortunately many people here forgot how baseball works and think that cold streaks aren’t possible unless your teams sucks.

What's funny about this is every team in MLB -- EXCEPT the White Sox -- has had a 4 game losing streak. But I guess the Braves season ended when they lost 4 in a row.

Still in first place through no fault of their own.

Again a lot of truth in your comments. The next 10 days or so after the break could determine if the Sox will be actively looking to bring folks in at the deadline or stand pat and hope for the best.

With so many teams still "in it" it may not be wise in the long run for the Sox to trade away assets and have to pay a very high price.

We'll see.

Great post and spot-on. Also, this series confirmed a couple of important things:

  1. Junior Perez is not part of the solution against LHP and should be sent down when Murakami is activated (and ahead of Gonzalez IMO)

  2. A RH hitting backup catcher is now officially a need at the deadline as Teel can’t currently handle LHP and Romo is not a major league player

  3. We desperately need one of Pereira or Hays back to help against LHP as there are too many strong platoon guys on the active roster presently

  4. The bullpen outside of Eisert appears to be stronger than most realize providing 11 scoreless this series (McDougal likely will replace Eisert)

  5. The rotation is the primary weakness and will need to be addressed in several ways for the Sox to make the playoffs and compete in October

  6. An outside addition to the rotation that can knock everyone down a spot is critical even if that isn’t a true #1 starter (which we can’t really afford)

  7. We need to find a way to give Martin some rest down the stretch as he looks fatigued, whether that’s going six man or skipping a start here or there

I don't think it would be a failure either (in fact I don't think they will claim a spot) but a missed opportunity none the less.

At this point I'd be surprised if Boston is selling. The 10 days after the break should determine it once and for all. If they stay hot their fan base will demand that they add and not subtract.

Yup, this day was no doubt coming, especially with this rotation. Doesn’t help that we are currently exposed against LHP and Vargas & Grichuk both are in the midst of cold streaks.

Always sucks when you get kicked to the curb like this, but Murakami will be back tomorrow and that should provide a much needed bolt of energy and more importantly provide us with the one most dangerous power hitters in the game.

I really won’t mind if they don’t bring any big additions on and stand pat for the most part. Should that be the case and trade targets are too pricey then that just will have to be ok…

If we win the division or a wild card spot, cool… regardless this team is heading in the right direction and a couple of bumps in the road shouldn’t make people lose their fucking minds.

Though, I lost mine decades ago so… I’m not really one who should talk.

poop.

Braves club is miles better than the Sox and they have a recent track record of very good success to make one think they'll be fine the rest of the way.

Unfortunately you can't say the same about the Sox.

Not a valid comparison in my opinion.

Let's see how they play against Sacramento. Win the series, take some positive momentum into the break and get some much needed rest.

Random musings:

#1 Totally agree with it.

#2 Just last year we thought catching was going to be a strength, turns out it hasn't worked out that way. I know some don't care for Lee but he's got to be better than Romo and maybe deserves a shot.

#3 Wouldn't count on Pereira, he hasn't even started baseball activities. That concussion must be really bad. Hays is a wild card, guy can't stay healthy so who knows even if he does return, how long he'll be able to play.

#4 I get they hype with McDougal but the guy is coming off an arm issue. Everyone seems to be assuming he'll be fine. I'm not. Need to see the rest and rehab actually worked.

#5 The rotation absolutely needs help. Two starters with Schultz possibly being sent back down.

The guys really seem to feed off the crowd and Mexican Heritage Night is one of most raucous (if not the most) games of the year. That + Mune's return has me super pumped for tomorrow. Wish I could go

Maybe the worst series AT HOME this year, but that Brewers series to start the season was as bad as it gets.

It would help if the line up today did not include Junior Pérez hitting fifth, and Acuna and Romo anchoring the bottom of the lineup.

Same here. Really wish I was in town or otherwise I’d be there.

The Sox would have to go 23-47 to finish the season with 70 wins. That's a 51-win/162 pace.

If enough key players got injured and they did about that, how in the world would that be an "embarrassment"?

Agreed. No one expected this so it’s a nice treat but I doubt anyone thinks this team will go deep into the playoffs if they make it. Their rotation is weak but they can’t mortgage the future for a chance to chase an unrealistic WS this year.
