What is your trade deadline prediction?

Not what you want to do - but what do you predict?

I think the Sox get 2 starting pitchers from the group of (High Contract / Eat Money (Castillo / Ray), and then one of Singer/Mets crew), a catcher, and their splash move is Mason Millers (headlined by one of our SS prospects). The splash move is not one I would like to make but I think Getz is going to go big and maybe than leverages Millers and someone else to swing for a TOR guy later in another year (or they explore developing Miller into that TOR guy).

I think they end up with a veteran catcher and a couple arms, but I don't think they cave to the demands for a top of the line arm.

Stephenson and Singer for Quero and lower prospect

Jeff Hoffman for Mason Adams

I was going to say I think we make a multi player trade with the Reds and then Clay Holmes.

I don't think we acqurie a bullpen arm.

Holmes, Ray, and a catcher.

Give up very little, maybe someone like Lodise for Ray and Davis for Holmes.

I would prefer Singer and Stephenson (in addition to one of those other pitchers) although I think that would require probably something along the lines of Adams and Mongollon.

I would have no issues with either of these moves.

Only if Hoffman doesn't close. Asking him to close again would be a disaster.

I think we’re looking at something like the following:

Trade #1:

  • CWS get: LHP Reid Detmers

  • LAA get: SS Billy Carlson, C Edgar Quero, & RHP Mason Adams

Trade #2:

  • CWS get: LHP Robbie Ray (full contract)

  • SFG get: RHP Pierce George

Trade #3:

  • CWS get: C Tyler Stephenson

  • CIN get: IF Kyle Lodise & lottery ticket

Stephenson has been really good at the plate. OPS over .900 last month and a half I believe

He's been really solid today against the Guardians at the plate

A starting pitcher with lowered value instead of inflated.

A starting pitcher, a reliever, and a catcher. I'd like to see Ray, mainly because he wouldn't cost much at all if the Sox eat the money. Stephenson would be a nice addition at catcher. Then a mid-level bullpen arm.

Robbie Ray and Tyler Stephenson. No major prospects given up at all. Urquidy is our 2nd SP addition. This is the type of deadline I'd prefer.
