Plesac is a more serious wimpy, which is good, offers a more contemptuous perspective than Stone at this point and you can tell he's a big Sox fan.

Using “could care less” is one of pet peeves along with using “first annual” instead of “inaugural” and calling something ironic that is not ironic merely coincidental at best. Alanis Morrisette’s song really pisses me off. The only thing ironic about it is not one damn thing is ironic. 😁

John is actually growing on me. Did not like his style at all at first and he still has his cringe moments. However I think he has improved. That southside stand up needs to stop though, it ruins the moment. I thought he was done with it then he said it recently. While I’m starting to like the guy, I think I’d be fine if they went another direction, with someone who is proven to be good at announcing and someone that works well with Steve. I actually like Steve a lot.

I do think he has improved. Still too many cringe moments for me. He seemed upset they were making fun of him for dropping nachos. His South Side, stand up, was ridiculous when he used it after a Spring Training game the year they set a record for losses. But now, it would be great. He needs to take it out of the mothballs. Maybe like their alternate uniforms, they don't want to be South Side, anymore.

Try concentrating on the action on the field.....it's an exciting team with lots of dramatic moments that should be the primary focus of the telecast. Great points, Hawk. I can understand how a guy who is getting paid to talk would have a tendency to want to fill every space with some kind of commentary, but your suggestion about "letting it breathe" is right on. Maybe a reasonable parallel would be guitar players who avoid intervals of silence in their playing, and just keep cranking out notes, either because they're nervous, or pumped up about the gig, or whatever. But it's been said that the notes you DON'T play are just as important as the notes you DO play.

I've been muting him a lot this year. He's like a salesman trying to sell the team to us while repeating the same bs over and over. I already love this team ya jagoff now shut up and talk about the game

I feed bad posting this. He seems like a really nice guy.

He's got a good voice. But his baseball acumen is REALLY bad. Just the other day, he said the game was paused because a fan threw Colston's homer back on the field. It had hit the catwalk and the 2nd home run to do so that night but he didn't figure that out. He does this kind of stuff all the time. And he still can't figure out if a 400 ft'er has the distance to fly out until it lands. He's even hesitant on some of the no-doubters. It's kind of embarrassing. I want a baseball guy and preferably a long time Sox fan.

That being said, he'll probably get resigned.

Ha, I compared him to a more serious wimpy, so I see it too, I just like how he works with Schriff. I'd think he'd work well with anybody.

Schriffen and Plesac is a better broadcast than Benetti and Stone.
