My thoughts as well. They got lucky enough that this season has worked out the way it has. Will these reclamation products work. We shall see. Definitely underwhelming returns as of this minute. It’s like waiting for that second shoe to fall to make these make sense….still short a starter and catcher

While yes they are contending now, there is absolutely nothing wrong in buying on potential upside for future years considering they are a year, at least, ahead of schedule. Losing Adams honestly means nothing to me, and the 16 year old for the Rockies sake I hope he turns out to be good in 6 years or however long it takes for him to develop

Literally, no one will say we should have done that.

Even if I don’t like the move, I can usually understand the thinking behind it. It usually at least makes some sense. I just don’t see it here. I’m confused more than anything.

This trade makes no sense

Vielma putting up .337, .508 obp, .474 SLG on DSL as a 16 year old 2B/3B.

Wow this is odd indeed. I don’t have a problem with trading Adams in general, but backup CF was certainly not what I had in mind. I hope there’s something more behind this that would make it make more sense

Fernando Tatis 2.0?

Chris Getz is bad at this. People mistaken the ability to hire smart people for draft purposes with being good as the sox GM right now.

This guy has gotten taken to the woodshed in almost every deal he's made, and the ones that weren't bad ended up successful because the player put in a s%*# ton of work 2 years after the deal (vargas). Every new move solidifies this for me. He doesn't know how to value MLB talent or assets. Just my opinion of course.

Yeah, this trade is completely baffling.

Agreed. He is awful at trading

Wait til you get him outta coors tho, his numbers will skyrocket

A 570 OPS playing in Colorado lol.

Let this sink in all. Getz just gave up a reliever that would have helped this team more for a CF than is worse than the one we already have. The dude couldn’t hit in Coors!

His road numbers in his career are comical

Outside of a deal that seemed tough to f*** up where you have to aim for/have to get multiple team’s top prospects, I have to agree

That's my concern.

Yup…it’s hard to process this one without knowing more. Candidly, I’d prefer he go down to AAA and work through adjustments and not be forced onto the major league roster right now. Just hard to imagine trying to fix someone’s swing or approach in a part time role under the pressures of a playoff run makes a lot of sense.

Even WE can’t defend this one.

We need to get a dictionary out for you, son?

Vielma has a 149 wRC+ so far

You guys are all so whiny.

This is Dominic Fletcher Part 2, but Getz managed to give up even more.

The trade fucking blows. Try to defend it.

Go bury your head in the sand and praise every trade because “it’s something”

I'm mostly fine with it. Adams probably a bullpen guy (and it ain't gonna get better for him in Coors), and the other guy is whatever. Buying upside with Doyle makes sense if you think you can fix his struggles and that the injuries this year caused him to hit so poorly.

Center field looks like a platoon now.

I said it's an overpay, now we're ready for 20 pages of waterworks about a 16-year-old dominican or whatever else.
