This “teams don’t get credit when players work hard and player development is fake” is the worst bit on a site that includes Greg. Getz if anything deserves credit for going after players that show they’ll work hard and not make (very good) music videos

I definitely gave him credit for the character identification of Vargas, and do agree that he deserves credit for acquiring a player who had the foundation to build off of. My point is more so that when he acquired Vargas, and the two years following it, he wasn't winning that deal either and that I doubt the reason they made the deal was that they thought he'd add 3 MPH to his bat speed.

Doyle must be the short side platoon guy for Peters, and something else is going on with Pereira and/or they don’t trust him in cf.

WTF. Well, Getz has earned benefit of the doubt for now, but WTF.

Maybe Pereira gets more pt in RF, especially against LHP.

I hope this doesn't mean Braden's infection is worse than they let on. Oof.

This is just stupid.

You know what's stupid? I've been posting on this board for three years and it's the same group of people who are always wrong, who are also the whiniest and who are also internet bullies.

At a certain point, you don't even need to watch baseball to have opinions on it, just say the opposite of whatever the groupthink on this board says and you'll probably be correct.

I doubt it, if Pereira sticks around, I think for important games, you go with Doyle and him in CF/RF against LHP.

What's stupid is you telling everyone on the internet what the proper opinions are, how they should express them, what sites they should visit and not visit, and beyond.

There is another trade thread where these same posters (but for me, since I hate spending assets on the pen) said it was a good deal. So everyone isn't always critical of deals.

Maybe you'll start viewing Soxtalk like you view reddit and we'll all be spared.

You said yourself that this trade is an overpay, which is truly an understatement, so why are you questioning any of the majority of posters that think this trade blows? You are quite a weird one.

He hit lefties well last year, but oddly most of the lefties he faced were in Colorado so really hard to say.

Getz has performed a miracle this season. I was as big of a hater as possible but I ain't going to get lit up over minor trades. So far we've traded Mason Adams and Boston Smith. Not exactly guys likely to become big league regulars, let alone stars, and gotten some pieces that help us a bit.

People didn't want to trade top 5 org assets, well this is what that looks like.

Why do you speak this way to people?

Because you guys are whiny and obnoxious and mean-spirited. I wonder if you actually communicate this way in the real world or if you feel emboldened because you're on the computer.

Because he’s right, and you need to be told the truth. Go back and read your own posts and you will figure it out.

Thank god the big league season has gone great, or else everyone would focus on how bad the prospects have done outside of a few hitters (also thankfully Bonemer has been great, as he’s the most important hitting prospect before the draftees)

Nope, I’d tell you that you are clueless to your face. No problem. Honesty is the best policy.

We really need Getz to explain his thinking on this one. Like right now.

Oh no a 26 yr old injured aaa reliever the world is falling

Edited by bobbydanks

This is the type of move you make if you think your team can make a run for the world series. This is the best defender/4th outfielder available and next season isn't happening people. Vielma loss blows and i don't like this overall, but this is a F it, we want a gold glover in the 7-9 inning's and someone who doest hit an 8 wrc+ verse lefties like Peters does.

Ok that’s fine, he also has the crochet deal which is good value. He makes a lot of deals and stuff is gonna bite at our margins.

If I had a text thread with Getz though I’d tell him to target good players and stop targeting bad ones.

Pal youre the only person here calling people names and policing thoughts.

This is such a nothing trade. It’ll be okay.

I loved Brazoban deal and am fine with Castillo. I don't get this trade at all, especially the addition of ANOTHER prospect to the mix? Just bizarre. "Nothing at all" seems like a much better move here, we have plenty of AAAA outfielders.
