Tanner McDougal and Hagen Smith promoted, Sandlin and Schultz optioned to AAA

Seems like Fedde will be back in the rotation after this.

Pitching him today, he should be on schedule. Good for everyone involved. Fedde is much more effective as a starter then a reliever.

Worried that Smith will walk too many. Hope I am wrong.

Sick

They will probably be early bullpen guys and not get many stressful innings. Wish we had a couple hitters we could bring into the fold

If Bonemer was more experienced I’d say bring him up too but I think it would be a major rush job and they can’t afford to ruin him.

Bonemer...LOL. It is a little late to conduct that experiment.

Well, will make games even more interesting

One frustrating thing is that they should have had Castillo start tonight and Schultz last night. Basically punted tonight’s game against a divisional opponent.

Schultz and sandman

Let's go win a game tomorrow

Hagen Smith and Tanner McDougal -

Cue "Experiment in Terror" -Henry Mancini... for those who recall "Creature Features" late Friday nights on WGN.

Hope all 4 of these guys involved ultimately have long and successful careers with this franchise.

Needed fresh arms. I wonder who gets the DFA.

And with Thorpe set to come off the 60-day soon, I don't have any clue how the Sox feel about him. Will he get a shot at innings in MLB, will he get optioned and lie in wait for a while, will he be DFA'd?

Youth has the advantage of having a longer view.

For my own reasons, I hoped they'd make a run this season. Oh well.

No way they can DFA Thorpe

How will WestEddy possibly justify it?

lmfao, deck chairs, Titanic, etc

The future is here, let's see how the boys handle it.

Just DFA Richards after his Thursday night breakdown in Boston.

Can't they just 60 day Bart? I hope they dont expect him back regardless of what Getz said

Why would you DFA Thorpe? First, there is still some obvious fat on the 40 man roster. Joe Rock, Tyler Davis, & Tyler Gilbert should be amongst the first guys to go. Second, he has all three options remaining and worst case scenario can serve as important depth AAA role to start next season. Obviously it would be great if he could force his way into a rotation spot sooner, but he can still play an important role regardless.

Neither is probably ready, but this is what happens when your pen is BBQd
