He should have known Martin is cooked and he needed another high leverage arm in the pen. Billy Carlson better be the next Cal Ripken Jr.
4 hours ago4 hr Tanner was a 5th rounder taken out of high school who had TJS right after being drafted, so I won't list him anywhere near the top of pitching dev failures. Being a guy who looks like he may be MLB-quality is a dev success even if it's not crazy to wish he didn't have similar issues to some other higher-stakes draftees.
