Crazy Mully and Hugh lasted a while. I don’t think they would fire him for being a Sox fan…

While Silvy, the afternoon host on ESPN 1000 "the home for your Chicago White Sox" posts SMFD on x after the Cubs beat the Sox. Plus the morning guys always talk Cubs first. it's BS.

I don't know why he was fired but what I will say is that having listened to him for a long time I never thought he expressed himself well on the air. Didn't have the voice for it and to often seemed to stumble trying to get his point across.

Regarding David, I know him, have interviewed him and at times provided info to him for his show...he's one of the biggest Cub fans you will EVER see. But, he's professional enough that on the air you can't tell that.

I absolutely can tell Haugh is a Cubs fan but he is fair about it and doesn't need to be on the radio home of the cubs

The ESPN radio clowns are rabid Cubs fans...I'm sorry but they just piss me off sometimes.

First they fired Bernstein (also a Sox fan) then Mully? It does seem like they're out for Sox fans. Ricketts is putting pressure on the radio station of the Cubs!

Mully was my favorite Score personality. He’s the one voice I’ve consistently listened to for years — always tuned in on my way to work, from back when he was with Brian Hanley. I’m shocked. I definitely won’t be listening for Haugh, who is an incredibly annoying and biased Cub fan (and also clearly a football guy).

I wonder the reason. I listen to ESPN in the morning as I think Shea balances out Kap quite a bit. He also seems to give JHood energy so every time Kap brings up the Cubs, they call him out. Mully and Haugh was a weird pairing, but I thought it did work. I wonder who works mornings. I wouldn't mind Leila Rahimi with Haugh, then find a new midday. I would also love to see them poach some of the young talent like Tyler Aoki and Shea Norlin from ESPN.

He's been trash. Calls out others as knows it all, but gets mad when someone gives him crap for a bad take. Like legit gets mad and has beef with folks. The guy is also always on vacation seemingly. Not sure the value ESPN sees in him. I think you can pair damn near anyone with Tom Waddle and have the same show tbh.

That’s surprising. I feel like it has to be a financial decision only. Mully was like the only mainstay left.

I am a fan of Ryan McGuffey, he is likable, knowledgeable and passionate, so he fits the bill.

It's tough to see favs get let go. Brian Hanely was really good, and now Mully. I enjoy Haugh, to me he is very professional. I am curious who they team him up with.

I definitely agree it’s financial. you have to think midday is dragging everyone down, they need to bring in someone who is going to make it pop.

I don’t think Audacy is doing very well and I read 104.3 the Score is not doing well in the morning spot. Moving on from Mully is probably financial. Harris wasn’t really a fit, that show needed a driver when they got rid of Bernstein.

I haven’t listened to the Score much since Bernstein got fired, but only tune in to listen to Spiegs (who I met at the Ozzie Guillen number retirement game) and Haugh. I mostly just listen to Bernstein and Abbatacola now.

I think it is financial. It's the younger and cheaper model. Who will be next in the budget cut?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's Haugh and Jarrett Payton in the morning.

Seems to be more about cost-cutting AND Mully “having lost a step or two” with age.

Harder and harder for those in their 50s and 60s to keep up. Already have a handful of different threads on this topic.
