What will your reaction be if they don't?

Imagine looking out up all of our post the last offseason and even into April.

How many would really care how far they went into the postseason vs. at least they got there.

It seems like it is a new experience going from losing 100 games and hoping that would happen again to get rid of Getz to seeing some more Sox baseball in Oct.

This wasn't suppose to happen.

I voted no, obviously I've been saying this for a month now if they do make the playoffs, it'll be because they were just the least bad team that limps in it isnt controversial to say that they just d

Yes we make the playoffs as an 84 win division winner, for whatever that is worth.

(It’s probably worth a first round exit to an AL east wildcard team that we struggle to win 1 game against)

It is possible that final wildcard spot will be a team under .500. The AL West is worse than the central.

I'd be slightly angry because Getz made the team worse at the deadline. He went for players that are under control vs rentals who are good. The disastrous deadline would make it a harder pill to swallow.

I will definitely be bummed if they fade out this season. I won’t be mad at them because all of this has been a really fun season and very pleasantly surprising. If they made the playoffs and got bounced right away I would be happy they made the playoffs. The trade deadline wasn’t a needle mover so far so the offseason would be interesting, if it happens

After 3 awful seasons, I won’t be satisfied at the end of the season if they miss the playoffs. It will feel like a failure because the division is winnable and the wild card should be the worst they do at this point.

Need to refocus. Don’t stop now boys.

It’s a strange situation, as like you, absolutely thrilled if they make playoffs (and get bounced). If they tank the next 6 weeks though, it will quite disheartening. I think I’d have more optimism about the coming seasons if some of the expected core guys took a big step this year instead of struggling (Schultz, Colson, Teel, Shane Smith).

And if the upcoming offseason wasn’t neutered by the deadline acquisitions and the CBA.

Nobody here is ready for the Luis Robert waiver claim that reignites the lineup once he reunites with his pals Vargas and Colson

Then pick up the last option year and trade him next spring training.

Try not to kiss it too many times. Those public statues can carry a lot of bacteria.

I’m optimistic. But I’m not emotionally attached to an outcome in a year where the team arrives ahead of schedule. It’s all good, they already have achieved everything they could’ve hoped for

I’m deliriously happy Getz kept all the main prospects in the organization to build more value. That’s the right play for a team that is more about the future than the present. I’d like to have gotten more for Boston Smith. But that’s a good example of why you don’t want to be under the gun forced to make moves.
