Murphy's Law should be renamed to Jerry's Law.

  • Guardians and Blue Jays both play earlier games, so we will see if this is a game to maintain 1st place in the Central or try to get back to 1 1/2 and still a lead entering Cleveland.

The death march continues ☠️

Time to bring this back from the 05 run. Let's start a winning streak today.

I'm thinking wild card more and more.

Is this how this team is going to let this play out? They have 15 games left to show who they are. All the good vibes of the season could go right down the drain if they blow this and miss the playoffs. They will just be remembered as a team that choked away the Division and the playoffs the last month of the season.

Thank you, HS. Too damn many Deb Downers around here!

Why so optimistic

While watching these games i'm reminded of Murphy's law ~ "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". while it sounds pessimistic, it often serves as a reminder to anticipate failures, faulty planning and design, and problematic backup plans . I more than others wish them to succeed . i'm running out of time here.

They have a 3 game lead over their next closest competitors for that 3rd wild card spot. But I think the path to a deep playoff run rests on homefield advantage of some kind. Let's see. Some of this is just bad luck/variance. Hope it evens out in the end.

Surprised nobody has brought this up but, even though this is a different sport, it reminds me of the Bears quite literally backing into the final wild card spot in 2020.

Too keep my sanity I’m looking at it as they improved immensely from a team that won 61 games last year and are still in a rebuilding stage but if Getz can get JR to spend some money they can be true contenders in 2027. I wanted this team to make the postseason but knew deep in my heart that this was not a playoff team and the only reason we still have a shot at the playoffs is because the American League is a joke this year with only 3 good teams and all of them in the Eastern Division.

It would help if Wil would play our best players. I am all for mixing up the line-ups when strugling, but we need to play the guys that got us there in the first place.

Agree, but change that thinking to hoping.

The sickening part of it is that I just expect them to lose every day now, not unlike that 120 loss team. Really all they had to do in September was to not be awful and that is proving to be a difficulty.

That's how I feel... today for example it's yet another 'bullpen game' because the starting pitching is crap and Castillo is going to be used as part of it.

If ever they needed to beat the odds and get a win, today would be the day.

Part 1 holding true.

Will part 2?

If Cleveland does come back and win the division, I hope they just run off an .800 wpct the rest of the way, meaning it wouldn't have really mattered how the Sox played these last 2-3 weeks, because nobody would have expected them to just get red hot like that

If the Sox blow it, it's just another year of Cleveland losing in the playoffs. Hey Cleveland does 1948 mean anything to you?

Cleveland has made the post season in seven of the last 10 years. I can only speak for myself but I'd LOVE for the Sox to have that record even if they didn't do s$%^ in the playoffs.

At least if you get to the post season you have a shot. It sure as hell beats what the Sox have been doing.

I'm on suicide watch.....

Having to endure watching this spurs Everton match because my friend is forcing me to..... this might be the most diabolically boring thing I've ever had to endure.
