I still think that Peters should have hit for Doyle against the righty. Peters is also a better contact hitter than Doyle, and better outfielder than Sam.

True, but I was referring to hitting against a righty. Peters is a lefty and a better contact hitter than Doyle. Peters is a better defensive outfielder than Sam. If the pitcher would have been a lefty, Doyle would have been OK to hit.
