Hey. This s%*# hurts.

Take as much time as you need to grieve and come back here when you’re ready.

But this team has healed a lot of wounds for many of us. Let’s show them some love.

It’s going to take time to process everything that’s happened since Wednesday.  Short story is this hurts…a lot.  What can you say when the Sox lose a 2-0 lead in a best of five series, strike out 21

You missed the point. Maybe read the room, see it's an appreciation post, and save it?

It was a hell of a season; most fun I have had cheering for the Sox in a while.

If I had to order the playoff seasons I've seen after 2000:
1. 2005
2. 2026
3. 2008
4. 2020
5. 2021

Short story is this hurts…a lot.

What can you say when the Sox lose a 2-0 lead in a best of five series, strike out 21 times in the deciding game and an incredible 52 times in the three losses. "Home Run or Nothing..."

That’s mind blowing.

But the bottom line remains true today as it did in the 1920’s, 1950’s, 1980’s anytime baseball has been played.

PITCHING WINS PENNANTS.

Cleveland has been doing this for a decade so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised at what happened.

But to be fair what the Sox did this year was remarkable given the state of their pitching staff.

A winning season, the first since 2021 and only the sixth since the 2007 season began.

A 1% chance to make the playoff, yet they did so.

Winning a playoff series for the first time since 2005.

Winning a pair of games in the next round.

And let's not forget they got farther than the Cubs! (LOL)

Those accomplishments need to be absolutely noted.

What happens now?

Who can say, with the lockout coming and no guarantees baseball will be played in 2027.

But if the Sox want to take the next step, assuming they are allowed to invest in talent, one area simply has got to be made the priority.

 Pitching, pitching and more pitching.

 Period, end of story.

You can’t keep succeeding when you are forced to use an “opener” 30-40 times a season.

Be that as it may despite the pain right now, it was a successful year.

All we can do now is hope things get settled labor-wise and the Sox do what needs to be done.

Fantastic season, never expected the excitement they gave us. Need to build on the momentum next year.

Most thought drafting Roch would be the highlight of the year, and instead he'll be working towards joining a young core that already got their feet wet in the postseason.

Compared to bouncing back from setting the modern loss record, bouncing back from a disappointing ALDS exit should be much more manageable.

And the journey to get there was certainly a heck of a lot more fun.

Vargas, Antonacci, Peters, Meidroth. Everyone else can go. Maybe you keep Grichuk around.

Love that they are burning $24M on Castillo to be a DFA candidate next season, too.

Sure.

Easily the most likable team and fun season since 05. Got my kids back into the Sox after they were burned by the 21 core, and gave them something to cheer about in our Cub-dominated neighborhood—will always be thankful for that.

I hope shitting in the one positive thread gives you the emotional boost you’re looking for.

It can be viewed as a historic playoff collapse or a wonderful, unexpectedly fun summer. The half full or half empty glass. Either way the party is over. The strikeouts!! OMG! Thanks, White sox for a great summer.

There's no doubt left remaining about the team flaws, as they have all been exposed for the entire baseball world to exploit in 2027.

How will/can the players and coaching staff adjust back?

Mune will work harder than ever, his ethic/professionalism there has never once been in question.

Just a shame the way it ended with winning the first 2 games in the series and then falling flat on our faces in the next 3 but it was the most fun season in a long long time.

For me nothing will beat the 1959 and 2005 seasons but when you’re talking pure fun I still think the 1977 Southside Hitmen was the most fun season I’ve experienced as a Sox fan.

Sucks they lost the series how they did, especially with whatever the hell the offense was doing in the last game, but a great season all together and most fun since 2005.

As for whatever is next - you just can’t have this many guys in the lineup that strike out to this degree. Either approaches need to change or guys need to be shifted out.

I don't get this mindset at all.

Because the White Sox didn't try this year (low payroll, zero investment at the deadline) setting a low bar of expectations, and because they've been historically bad the years prior, we should be happy with the year. It feels like a huge loser mindset.

Most even talk about this rebuild like it was better than the last because of this 84 win season in an AL that's the worst it's been in my life.

They choked the division, and then choked the playoff series. But sure, tell me how this is different and deserves admiration. It's legit disappointing to see so many people adjust their expectations just because the Sox became an embarrassment of an org.

I'll add, definitely some fun moments and the players deserved more.

One of the guys I was hanging out with at the bar last night never saw 2005, which blew my mind and made me feel old as hell. But listening to how much he loved this team.... this is different than 2021. It's more sustainable and we have a better front office. I think this team truly showed the best of us as human beings. Cannot wait for next year.

It was a really cool season and fun. Again as we Sox fans know the incompetence and frugalness of ownership will not do nothing to take the next step. So that's why Sox fans get how they get when they lose like they did last night. It could be another 10 years.....

Those numbers on playoff apperances and winning seasons are telling about ownership and the org. How many winning seasons and playoff appearances does this ownership have in almost 47years ...

Playoffs: 83, 93, 00, 05, 08,20, 21, 26

Is 8 playoff appearances good enough in 47 years? And out of those 8 they only advanced twice. 05 and 26

A fair amount of winning seasons but short on playoff appearances. The aughts White Sox teams were always competitive, for the most part.

Twas a very fun season that vastly exceeded my expectations in numerous ways. Had you told me in February that they'd be in contention for the division until they very last series of the season, make the playoffs, win a round, and be on the brink of the ALCS I would've taken it 100 times out of 100....with that being said, going out how they did (to Cleveland of all teams) was certainly a gut punch and their weaknesses got very exposed in those losses. But for a team that wasn't supposed to be here at all, I'll take it.

Right so my point is did ownership do enough to get over the hump. Answer is no
