Seiya Suzuki seems like a perfect fit to me. I also think a Colson trade to the Mariners for someone like Kirby makes a lot of sense for both sides. I feel like an infielder somewhere will be on the block for a starter.

We assume it's good for both sides. We think the other side is far more gullible.

We use Jerry's yardstick of economics when it comes to starting pitchers. It's an over inflated market.

I'm also tired of the constant of players getting better leaving the Sox. That is the deeper problem in the organization.

Trading guys who are not good enough to start ends up searching the waiver wire because you also lost a bench player.

There’s a very good chance IMO they just run it back next year with virtually the same position players. I could see them signing Grichuk to a 1-year deal and making Romo the back-up catcher. Would everyone be ok with this? You all know I believe one of the Montgomerys needs to go.

I would try to replace both Montgomerys. They need 2 good bats and decent defenders at RF, and LF, move Antonacci to DH, get a competent SS to fill in until Rock comes up, get two legit top of rotation starters and a legit closer. Then they might be a contender.

Go into next season with this current roster and they'll be lucky to win 79 games.

Just releasing Benintendi?

HaSeong Kim would be fine for penis on the dollar for 2-3 months.

Might even start to hit again like about three seasons ago.

At this point, it will be under a $5 million deal like N.Lopez or Rojas.

Ant man kinda seems like the odd man out and I’d consider trying to sell high on him. He’s just not any good in the outfield. Brooks and Bonemer are more exciting to me as left fielders. I hope Benny gets cut.

Baldwin is miles away from having the same impact as Antonacci.

Another hitter that strikes out way too much and has similar defensive shortcomings.

He's fine off the bench though.

Really comes down to Doyle Acuna Baldwin (and back up ability at SS vs Acuna).

Probably want him to play everyday for 2-3 months at Charlotte to retain his offensive rhythm.

Let's not get too high on Bonemer just yet. A .260 hitter in AA doesn't project to the majors very well. Colson lesson learned. We don't need another .200-ish unproductive bat. If he can get to upper .200's in Charlotte and maintain his slug then he'll be ready for the show.

Charlotte throws off all the numbers.

See Gonzalez, Jacob.

Not about a specific average with Bonemer, but the quality of at bats/contact.

Even 24-27 homers likely to be much more impactful than Braden's 2025.

Defense still a work in progress.

If he gets more OF reps, I can see Braden on the hot seat.

I pray I don't ever have to see Acuna or Romo ever take another at-bat again.

Braden is going nowhere. He'll get every chance to succeed as he should. Hes young and just scratching the surface.

Positionally he is kind of a floater, but i do not get rid of him at any cost. I find him a spot and I let him lead off every game. Too much of a spark plug, and with all of the low average, strikeout hitters we have, I want someone who finds his way on base at all cost.

BM is a minor leaguer rushed too soon. He can spend a few years with the C Ballers and not be missed.

Guys that I know I want around:

Sam

Chase

Miguel

Teel

Guys that will be around:

Mune

Braden

Guys that I think should be around:

Peters

Guy that will be around at some point:

Bonemer

Not a lot of spots left.

IF defense is key and I don't see any changes there given every player is solid starter to star level and young and cheap: Vargas, Colson (who the f*** is Colston? He plays TE not SS), Chase, Mune.

C: Teel, Quero. Quero has earned the backup role imo. He'll be fine as a cheap 35/45 type. Teel is gonna catch 120+ next year imo. He is just hungry and the injuries were fluke things from WBC.

OF: Peters, Sam, Braden, Doyle. Just eat the Beni salary. See what Grich wants. Baldwin will factor in I'd imagine. It's interesting, he had the patch repair (which is better for position players) so he should have been full go for a few months now, at least swinging. He's still got a bit of shine imo. He's more impressive physically in person that you'd think.

Utility guys will shake out, no real use projecting. I don't think they are particularly tied to Acuna, to their credit.

The obvious place to trade would be corner. You could probably package Braden and Beni and ____ for something. I'm not saying you do it, but it wouldn't be awful on paper. Ant is same. I like Ant more than Braden, but both have flaws. Both are also young and talented enough that trading them could come back to bite us. I would only do it for an obvious SP upgrade with some control. Someone threw out a trade for Kirby from Seattle. I could see that.

Bonemer will have to force the issue. Same with Roch. We'll see if anybody else does. It does seem like they think Bonemer might be a CF.

This team will be projected like 81-81 next year without any spending, pretty good spot to be in. Too bad we have to pay Castillo but you never know. Maybe he can surprise.

Packaging Braden with Benintendi is killing prospect capital again to save a few million...ugh.

Just don't see the logic of selling so low on a prospect at that age.

Better to sell Meidroth at a high and move Antonacci to second, but Getz would never do that.

Having watched Braden in milb CF, and now Bonemer, feels like 75%+ or higher likelihood that Caleb ends up on a corner as well.

In 2018, James Shields actually pitched over 200 innings. We at least need some length from Castillo as a starter to at least help the bullpen a bit.

Yea my hope is he just gives us like 110 innings of slightly below avg sp.

Good luck with that idea.

Let's just say the track record not just in his disastrous time with the Sox but even before that isn't very good.

If he is going to get hammered basically every time out, force a bigger load on the bullpen and make it almost impossible to win the game, the innings pitched factor doesn't matter.

Beni had a tough time. He gone. No one is going to trade for him either.

$14.5 million for a -0.1 fWAR. He’s going nowhere.

I had Gemini analyze the Brewers and Sox Front Office Directories listed publicly on MLB.com and break down the differences in philosophy between the two teams:

Analyzing the staff directories of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago White Sox reveals distinct organizational philosophies. While both front offices navigate the modern data-driven landscape of Major League Baseball, their directory structures highlight contrasting priorities in how they build, evaluate, and operate their baseball and business ecosystems.

Milwaukee Brewers: The Engine of R&D and Scaled Modernization

The Brewers' directory strongly reflects a culture deeply embedded in advanced analytics, internal systems architecture, and specialized player development.

Massive Investment in Baseball R&D and Software Engineering: The sheer depth of Milwaukee's Baseball Research and Development (R&D) department stands out immediately. Unlike many teams that rely on a lean analytics group, the Brewers employ a large cohort of full-time analysts, software engineers, data engineers, and quantitative developers (including dedicated principal and senior engineers). This indicates a heavy reliance on proprietary software platforms and continuous custom-built evaluation models.

Modernized Performance and Athlete Optimization: Rather than splitting player care into isolated silos, the Brewers feature a cohesive "High Performance" and medical structure featuring distinct leads for Athlete Availability, Movement Solutions, and Performance Psychology. This points to an organization that heavily values integrated biomechanical data and injury mitigation strategies to maximize player uptime.

Streamlined Executive Layers: The baseball operations side is tightly organized under Matt Arnold, featuring a classic structure of Assistant General Managers and specialized Vice Presidents (Amateur Acquisition, Scouting, Research) with minimal redundant corporate layers. It reads like a nimble, highly technical machine optimized for small-to-mid market efficiency.

What the Brewers Value Most:

Technological self-reliance and proprietary analytical depth. By building massive internal engineering and R&D pipelines, the Brewers place a premium on uncovering market inefficiencies through proprietary data systems, movement science, and deep analytical modeling.

Chicago White Sox: Traditional Baseball Pedigree Blended with Broad Institutional Legacy

The White Sox directory presents a sprawling, traditionally structured organization that blends longtime institutional roots with a multi-layered corporate approach.

Legacy Baseball Experience and Advisory Depth: The White Sox lean heavily into baseball lineage and veteran advisors. The directory lists multiple special assistants to the chairman, executive VPs, and senior advisors—including prominent baseball names and figures with deep historical ties to the organization (such as Tony La Russa, Jim Thome, and various franchise alumni listed under community and special roles). This suggests an organization that places high value on veteran instincts, institutional memory, and traditional scouting evaluation.

A Dedicated Focus on "Leadership, Culture, and Continuing Education": Uniquely, the White Sox feature explicit roles dedicated to internal culture and leadership development (such as a Director of Leadership, Culture and Continuing Education and dedicated mental skills staff). This highlights an organizational push toward establishing explicit cultural guardrails and developmental frameworks for players and staff.

Comprehensive In-House Business and Creative Operations: The White Sox directory is exceptionally thorough on the business, media, and fan-facing sides, detailing robust departments for digital content, creative video production, graphic design, and community relations (featuring a massive roster of former players acting as club ambassadors).

What the White Sox Value Most:

Institutional legacy, cultural alignment, and a robust organizational hierarchy. The structure suggests an appreciation for traditional baseball wisdom balanced with a heavy emphasis on organizational culture, structured education pipelines, and polished fan-facing/media execution

My guess is you weren't a fan of the Szmarzjia special? Give up 5 or 6 early but still go 6 innings or at least that's how I remember him. And I am sure I misspelled his name but I don't care.

This is one of the very few years in WS baseball that they could just stand pat and improve. @southsider2k5 brought up an excellent point about salaries potentially falling with the upcoming labor deal. Perhaps teams may not be spending like they have in the past. Hopefully, that brings some players into the market the Sox always shop at.
