I'd be fine if she ever improved her really grating, elementary electro-pop stuff she does, I could handle that, but she seems to be complacent in not improving her beats.

If I want a dirty mouthed female rapper I'll head to Amanda Blank.

Animal Collective are going to be on Letterman tonight.

They should play #1 again for the hell of it.

haha, that was so ballsy to play the first time. Despite that wouldn't mind My Girls or Brothersport.

Does anyone else besides me and Jason listen to Taking Back Sunday or am I talking to myself? (Because I don't count Jason).

I listen to them. I constantly have Louder Now on rotation blasting Liar, MakeDamnSure and Error: Operator

Tell All Your Friends was a pretty important album for me

So 21st Century Breakdown isn't as good as American Idiot, if only for the fact that AI was such a surprise. You didn't expect Green Day to write a Rock Opera, and 21st Century is just them doing what we expected now.

The album is far more like a musical than American Idiot, and the theme is tighter than AI, but it's just not hitting me like AI did. It's split into 3 Acts, and the 1st and 3rd are the best. The second act is pretty muddled...

Still a solid album with some great songs, like:

"21st Century Breakdown"

"¡Viva la Gloria!"

"Before the Lobotomy"

"Last Night on Earth"

"¿Viva la Gloria? (Little Girl)"

"Restless Heart Syndrome"

"Horseshoes and Handgrenades"

"American Eulogy"

"See the Light"

I've been listening to Cage the Elephant's album (Cage the Elephant-2008) for the past few hours, I'm really digging it. I heard the single Ain't No Rest for the Wicked on the radio, and I've been pleased. The whole record definitely has a Jack White vibe to it.

Is that song being used in a film, or tv commercial??

I agree to an extent on your review. I think it will take quite a few more listens to really get into it though. American Idiot's greatness will be hard to hit again, but I'm enjoying the different feel of each song on this album right now, and am about to go back for listen #2.

I like Act II a lot, it's hard to pick a favorite act.

The Black Saint & The Sinner Lady (Charles Mingus), so f***ing good.

Unbelievable album. A Love Supreme and Kind of Blue are the only two other jazz albums that are up there on par with Black Saint in my (admittedly limited) book.

If you feel up to it, give these two albums a try:

Suspicious Activity?

Radiolarians II (this one is admittedly different, but still very good.)
