February 17, 201016 yr If he signs with the Sox, he'll be booed so bad in Detroit. That'll be a lot of fun.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) Anyone else wanna post the Twitter? I hear the 4th times the charm. Per Ken Rosenthal's twitter #WhiteSox 1-yr offer to Damon includes heavy deferrals. Present-day value in $4.5M range. Keep hearing Damon does not want #Tigers.
February 17, 201016 yr I'm gonna say it. I think we're going to get him, and i couldn't be happier. It was worth all this rotating DH s***, all my pontificating and all the b****ing, if we wind up with Damon. Come spring training, i might just give KW a hug.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) How much is differed? Damon must really not like Detroit. That and he probably believes that the Sox are much closer to being a championship quality contender than Detroit is.
February 17, 201016 yr Cowley says the Sox have become the frontrunners for Damon. http://twitter.com/cst_sox/status/9253983124
February 17, 201016 yr I wonder if he means its worth 4.5 TOTAL with Deferals (IE like 2 mil 'up front') or if it is 4.5 'now' with more deferred down the line on top of that
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:24 PM) That and he probably believes that the Sox are much closer to being a championship quality contender than Detroit is. The park factor might also be part of it.

It was worth all this rotating DH s***, all my pontificating and all the b****ing, if we wind up with Damon. Come spring training, i might just give KW a hug. I think that you're right. If he's willing to go down that far in value, Detroit must be a major turn-off for one or both of them. Damon wouldn't single-handedly propel us to the Central title, but he'd make the lineup look much more complete and competitive.
February 17, 201016 yr Not matter where Damon lands, I LOL with Boras and how well he does his job for his clients.
February 17, 201016 yr Funny how many people that have said f*** Boras, the Sox should never sign a Bopras client, aren't so worried now.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 11:26 PM) Why are those # signs in front of the team names? # are trending topics @ is the person you are replying to RT means you are quoting someone elses tweet (ReTweet)
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Not matter where Damon lands, I LOL with Boras and how well he does his job for his clients. I bet both Damon and Boras are LOL-ing about the 2 year 14 mil they turned down from NYY
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:22 PM) How much is deffered? Damon must really not like Detroit. If the present day value is $4.5M then that means there's probably another ~$2.5M differed. $7M makes an awful lot of sense even if 36% is differed.
February 17, 201016 yr I'm thinking about running some Sox projections with Damon in the lineup. I think i'll use CHONE this time, becasue James is a bit too optimistic.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Funny how many people that have said f*** Boras, the Sox should never sign a Bopras client, aren't so worried now. Well when your on the verge of signing two of his clients in one off-season, I would some people's opinions have changed alot.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 04:29 PM) If the present day value is $4.5M then that means there's probably another ~$2.5M differed. $7M makes an awful lot of sense even if 36% is differed. Ah I see. That's a good deal for Damon then. I'd definitely take it if I were him.
February 17, 201016 yr QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 02:28 PM) I bet both Damon and Boras are LOL-ing about the 2 year 14 mil they turned down from NYY Yeah, no kidding. Misinformation is Boras' greatest weapon.
