Felix Hernandez was better than both of them.

Eh, I disagree. I think Felix was better than Buchholz obviously, but outside of ERA, Jackson wins about every category over Felix.

And Felix faced the Rangers, Yankees and Red Sox. Just a tad better than the Tigers, Orioles and Indians. Felix was clearly the best AL pitcher last month.

BAA: .189

ERA: 0.82

K/9: 10.62

Well, ok, if you factor in opponents faced, then sure I guess you could give it to Felix. Bottom line is that Buchholz was not deserving.

I totally agree with this. It should've gone Felix with Jackson a CLOSE 2nd. But pitcher of the month doesn't mean much anyway.

I saw in some comments somewhere today someone talking about the Cy Young and they said they'd stop watching baseball if Hernandez got the Cy Young over Sabathia because Hernandez has only 10 wins. I facepalmed, this is a pet peeve of mine. Sabathia's been great but really now. How many wins would HE have on the Mariners? Pretty big difference between them and the Yankees don'tcha think?

That's pretty sad. Had to have been a Yankee fan.

Cocky over sweeping the Indians? Put down the kool aid.

What we need to hope for is a split.

Twins are red hot at home (still) so we'll just lose a half game. Two losses and a twins win will be reminiscent of the East coast trip in September last year.

Big day tomorrow boys!

Texas should be able to mash Blackburn - even without Hamelton.

Beckett should be tough - hopefully M56 shows up and mows em down!

A win tomorrow would be sweet - combine that with a Texas win - and I'm a happy camper.

Anyone know how our team and players have faired against Beckett?

This is all I can find:

Beckett is 4-1 for his career against Chicago with a 3.72 ERA.

Rios, Teahen, and Kotsay have done the best off him (min 10 AB). Rios is the only player with a HR vs. him (1 HR in 21 AB).

Manny, Pierre, and Beckham have never faced him.

V-Mart and Ortiz kill Buehrle.
