Unless they're acquiring a blocked catcher, this has the potential to be a really bad move.

It isn't bad if he hits like 2014. If he is like every other year in his career, it would be an offensive downgrade

The last year of his contract is what I'm hung up on but I agree that if he can hit as he did in '14 then great. But that's a huge if and gamble.

Mesoroco tried to play through a pretty bad injury so I wouldn't put too much weight into those numbers...unless he's still not healthy

How about another hahn favorite Jason Castro from the Astros?

Castro is a lefty, why would we go after him when we already have Avila? We need someone who can hit LHP.

He has only one year left before free agency. Unless they want to extend him tho he hasn't lived up to expectations

If Hahn is ready to quickly add another catcher, I think this implies free agency. If they add Navarro, they will have cleaned house on the previous year's catchers, but there's no definitive way to say the position has changed much, for good or bad.

Mesoraco would be awesome. Huge fan of his.

Still think it's gotta be Navarro. Hahns comments would be strange if he were on the doorstep of a trade.
