They shouldn't have to trade any one. Just sign a middle of the order bat, and they have a respectable offense.

There's absolutely no way you could be mad at this deal and what we gave up. You may not like the player but this isn't a bad deal. Hahn has turned Peavy into Avi, Montas, Rondon and JBW who now was dealt for Lawrie.

Nice move. Still need more work though.

Yes, this is 100% confirmed. This is the deal.

So glad we didn't give up much and the Sox are much improved but there is more to do!! Don't stop now boys!!

For reference, Wendelken was ranked #28 in the FutureSox prospect rankings, Zach Erwin was #16

 

if you use that as a ref, and it is a valid ref. the need of the team is now. what the value of the sp, esp after last nite trade between the braves and dback, sp are at a premium.

This is the best thing the Peavy trade has given us yet.

This stabilizes the Sox. Improves the team, smooths a real rough spot, and allows them to keep building.
