December 30, 201510 yr Don't you think if something was on the goal line, Ken Rosenthal or Bob Nightengale would have it by now? Be patient. It's not like Cespedes is a once in a generation talent anyway.
December 30, 201510 yr Honest question, can someone describe the genesis of some random dude with no followers on Twitter tweeting out bulls*** and having it gain steam? I assume people are just searching Twitter for keywords and stumble upon this s***, right? His few followers start retweeting it like crazy or spamming people with it? Reddit gets ahold of it?

I assume people are just searching Twitter for keywords and stumble upon this s***, right? His few followers start retweeting it like crazy or spamming people with it? Reddit gets ahold of it? I'd guess yes on all of that.

December 30, 201510 yr Since everyone's doing it: per my Siberian husky, the white sox have signed Yoenis Cespedes to a 12 year $11-eleventy billion contract
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:07 PM) Given the choice, I prefer an OF of Jackson-Eaton-Cespedes. That would be pretty solid. Just as soon get the OF D fixed if they are going this far. And dare I suggest that a Jackson/Parra platoon in lieu of the big ticket guy might work as well. Austin Jackson a FA, right? What would he cost?
December 30, 201510 yr @barstoolWSD No bulls***, I have it on very good authority that the White Sox and Yo are "close" This guy actually has some credibility.
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:22 PM) @barstoolWSD No bulls***, I have it on very good authority that the White Sox and Yo are "close" This guy actually has some credibility. @PatrickHoward50 I was just told 6/125 https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/682022766078504961
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (Saufley @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) Austin Jackson a FA, right? What would he cost? yes, no comp. I think he's a good player, but he's hit poorly against righties recently. Our boy Slat is now saying the Sox signed Latos. This guy must delete all of his tweets that turn out bogus. December 30, 201510 yr I'm not going to get overly excited, but I love to see some of this coming out, no matter who it's coming from.
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (Tony @ Dec 30, 2015 -> 02:26 AM) Yeah, things are getting a little more interesting now, unless all this info is coming from the same person. What's with name change
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) Tomorrow is Wednesday so... Which is only about 3 and a half hours away technically...hmmmm
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:23 PM) @PatrickHoward50 I was just told 6/125 https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/682022766078504961 That guy is also saying the Angels offered Cespedes $125 million. Does he have any credibility?
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) That guy is also saying the Angels offered Cespedes $125 million. Does he have any credibility? I believe so. Can anyone else verify?
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) That guy is also saying the Angels offered Cespedes $125 million. Does he have any credibility? The barstool guy didn't say that, the other guy did. Barstool guy seems to think it's done. If anyone has any credibility here, it's probably him.
December 30, 201510 yr Do raBBit or bucket of suck have any new info that they're willing to share with the rest of us?
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) Do raBBit or bucket of suck have any new info that they're willing to share with the rest of us? I would think if they did they would have posted here already.
December 30, 201510 yr One thing that really bothers me about Cespedes is his declining walk rate. He started out walking 8% of the time his rookie year. Then 6.5%. Then he got traded to the Red Sox and it's like he doesn't even know walking is a possibility anymore. If he doesn't hit .280 or higher, he's not going to get on at a league average rate.
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (raBBit @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 06:40 PM) whitesoxdave and the guy have different sources. I just think this other kid if kind of full of it. Either that or he was dropped a golden nugget and he doesn't really know anything else about the team. The guy is from Glen Ellyn and that's where MLBtraderumors is based out of. Just my sleuthing not sure it's relevant. Don't think that is anything more than a coincidence...mlbtraderumors is a pretty legitimate site these days, and it isn't run by this guy. Brian, do you think the Sox may be starting to feel as though Gordon is using them?

December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (Heads22 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 07:18 PM) He also claims Melky will platoon with LaRoche at DH. I really doubt this organization will throw Avi out in right field to embarrass himself some more.
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) 8 against 6.5 isn't much. 8 and 5 is. You're more likely to get 5% from him in the future unless he changes his approach. Edit: FWIW, over 600 PAs, 1.5% is 9 walks. 3% is 18 walks. That is a sizable difference. Edited December 30, 201510 yr by chw42
December 30, 201510 yr QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 07:58 PM) Gordon to Baltimore Cespedes to LAA Sox to now target Upton after missing on Cespedes/Gordon That's from one unsubstantiated guy earlier today on Twitter. Lots of rumors flying fast, who knows! Also, Michael Jordan to come out of retirement, play for Grizzlies.
