This is a continuing theme with this team. Low baseball IQ and has been for years.

Considering how few of the players go on to bigger things elsewhere, I'm thinking it's just a mediocre talent level.

So many holes on this team. I don't blame Robin for starting Jennings this inning, problem is to many players just aren't good on this roster right now.

Yeah, our bullpen is starting to look more like past years, except for the amazing closer of course.

I wish our guys would take pitches like this.

That's why it sucks to have a team that rarely draws walks. In this day and age of asshole umpires who squeeze when they want to squeeze, it helps if you'll take some pitches and draw some walks. Why do umpires love to squeeze pitchers? It's very boring. Make batters hit or ring them up. Geezus.

According to fangraphs WAR, out of 176 position players:

- Melky is 160th

- Alexei 168th

- Eaton- 173rd

No other team is close to having 3 guys that low in the rankings.

And that's not including Flowers/Soto and Micah/Sanchez because they don't qualify.

The offense is just a black hole right now. It might be tolerable if Abreu was hitting like he did the first 3 months last year.

Hahn's biggest failure, overall, has to be the catching situation since AJ left.

Granted, there are no easy answers...and there aren't more than 5-7 decent two-way catchers in MLB right now...but the failure is more in accepting mediocrity (well, below that even) and not trying something/someone else.

Investing Melky's money into Russell Martin, for example.

This has been a really poorly managed, performed and umpired game

Luckily, Cleveland fans were spared this one...and could just tune in after the Cavs' win to be pleasantly surprised their team was in the process of winning consecutive games for just the 2nd or 3rd time all season long.

At least the vendors are happy....Rodon starts have to be averaging 3 1/2 hours each time he goes out there. Maybe not so happy to be stuck at the park so long when there's a low attendance weeknight game.

This continuously empty ballpark nonsense - brought on by continuously failing ownership - just must stop at some point. It is beyond ridiculous. Reinsdorf's horrible management of this franchise needs to either figure out a way to improve this situation, or bow out in favor of a group that can. But our ballpark game after game, season after season, being as empty as it is - completely unacceptable at this point. Time for our fan base to demand something better!
