  1. Past hour

  2. Very interesting. Not sure if you can easily cure either problem though.
  3. The Castillo case is incredible for Getz. At the very least, he could have done better homework. Hell sometimes he doesn’t know the handedness of his acquisitions. At most, he could have chased harder after after guys like Peralta.
  4. It's not uncommon for teams to have multiple relievers throwing 100mph. It would be nice for the high K Sox batters to have a back up plan.
  5. I have defended Getz as much as a few people, but that would be unfathomable.
  6. I keep wondering what starter Carlson + Smith + Mason Adams could have garnered.
  7. "Before Adell stepped into the box, Peralta had thrown 11,350 four-seam fastballs as a major-leaguer. His 11,351st was his fastest yet: 99.4 mph right down the middle, which Adell fouled off for strike one. Peralta reared back and attacked again with 99 mph — a mark he had reached only five times in his career prior to Tuesday — and got Adell to fly out to center field to end the frame." yahoo.com/sports 71/99 pitches were fastballs last night that's pretty wild definitely pushing his FA contract closer and closer to $100 million or more after being at around a 5 era with the Mets at the deadline
  8. She's an accountant? I'd like to see her corporate box, if you catch my drift
  9. Today

  10. Certainly a player with much more pristine shoulder imaging at that salary price point
  11. Predicted Antonacci's rise when he was still in the low level minors Predicted that David Sandlin would be a good pitcher. He had some very good starts for us. Predicted Braden's call up date and nailed it to the day. My track record this season was impeccable. I'll have some piping hot crow ready for you when Bonemer becomes a star.
  12. funny thing is the article doesn't directly mention it but she even has two sold out bobbleheads/boobleheads worth between $300-500 on the collectibles market 58 year old mother of 3 and accountant for family business in Osh Kosh who keeps a scorecard for every game those front row seats btw are supposedly all going corporate box next year
  13. Thank you for the boob content

  15. But a lot of those early years as a reliever...so not the shoulder or elbow wear and tear of a typical frontline starter that age. That's a much bigger risk for a Sonny Gray at 37 imo.
  16. I have loved Bonemer since his very first at bat in Kanny. He has what the scout's call "a good face." Nothing seems to intimidate him, and while his swing is a tad unorthodox, he's so strong he makes it work. My record with guys I like is super mixed. I was an early guy on Baldwin, Antonacci, and Colson. But I also really thought Oscar Colas would be something. Ah, no. It will certainly be interesting to see how Bonemer turns out.

  18. I need to see Vargas do it again next year, he was practically worthless for 4 years and 300 games and then finally had a huge year. Doesn't mean it was lucky or that it can't be repeated, I just want to see it.
  19. Hell, look at what Vargas had to go through before he turned into anything. A lot of the board was completely done with him and now he’s the best player on a playoff team. I’m not saying Braden (or Colson for that matter), will have a similar experience, but we gotta relax on who’s a bust and who’s a future star.
  20. Caleb appears ready to make the jump hopefully next year. I'm excited to see what he becomes. It's definitely nice to have insurance for Colson - his second half OPS was just .557. I fear the league has figured out how to exploit him out of the zone. I don't think Braden was rushed at all. He didn't have a great postseason, but for a 23 year old coming up, he did absolutely fine in his 400ish plate appearances.
  21. If his comment was a joke David Samson certainly didn't think so when he talked about it and the Sox never denied the conversation.
  22. I think that's still Vargas, but Chase is pretty good at everything whereas Vargas is still a below average defender.
  23. If you look at swing length it definitely changed. 7.8 to 8.1. How much that affects K% i dont know, but it does make sense if velocity was an issue especially up in the upper third of the strike zone.
  24. I always picture that infield pop fly that hit him in the head, hopefully he wins it. I think he's arguably our best overall player.
  25. Excellent summary of the true nature of our current owner. Best post you’ve had on this site IMO.
  26. Ok, thought he was younger than that. 5 years is still possible, but definitely less confident.
