“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
It looks like Target Field provides heating in areas like concessions, restrooms, and lounges. I don't know if anyone here has been there to confirm this. https://ballparkauthority.com/Facts.html. A number of ballparks are moving toward having more common space areas throughout the stadium. Perhaps those areas if the Sox build a new stadium could include radiant heating on colder days like you see at some outdoor restaurants. They definitely should spread out the suites more and almost certainly will. I've been to a dozen ballparks and many have the luxury suites blended in well throughout the park. I can't think of another ballpark that I've been to that has the luxury suites stacked on top of each other like at Rate Field such that it pushes just about everyone not in the lower deck up to the 500 level. IMO, the Club level area should be bigger. It's only 5 rows at Sox Park, so very limited number of seats. Yes, they're more expensive and not for taking a family to a game on a budget, but it's still within the price range for some regular fans. Anyone who thinks the Club Level at Rate Field is pretty good should see how much better that level is done at Busch Stadium and PNC Park .....and tickets to those Club Levels weren't as expensive as I've been listed at Rate Field.

Fall/Winter Ball 2026
The pitcher Tampa is hoping to get them to the World Series tomorrow while the Brewers barely have one starting pitcher.

I believe they are not going with Williams at all in hopes of game 7 but also trying to not overload him. Messick is looking cooked at this point.

Yeah when I heard that I was like something doesn’t add up. And then I can’t imagine flying back from London to Philly is great either (or flying in general).

Tampa Bay now gets 2 chances to clinch the AL pennant - both at home. But keep in mind that the Guardians have been a better team on the road than at home this year. .506 winning pct at home vs. .543 on the road. On the other hand, the Rays were much better at home (.679 at home vs. .531 on the road) this year.

It’s absolutely insane that they felt sleeping was too dangerous for Hurts but playing was not

2027 Offense
I feel like when Colson is hitting, the Sox win games. I think that's probably the biggest argument to keep him. It's not how Vargas goes, how Mune goes, etc. It's how Colson goes. It's almost like how TA was those last few years. I'm trying to fathom where a Skenes trade starts. If you're signing Sato, you're shipping out Bonemer as the headliner with Braden and Antonnaci now on the table as possible secondary pieces.

The Japanese players, generally speaking, are very disciplined. Even when adjusting to the league and going through their slumps… they do the work to get through it. He’d would be a worthwhile get assuming the details all worked out in coordination with the bigger plan.

I would be a huge fan of making a splash here as well as a splashy move on pitching front (that could also include a Skenes trade). My absolute dream would be Skubal and Sato.

I don't care who it was, I will always fall on the side of player safety. If someone endangered Hurts, they need to never work in the field again.

I'm curious whether it was his people or the Eagles people. I'm presuming Eagles. I know Eagles have had their issues but Hurts is relatively easy to root for. He plays tough, has performed well above his draft grade, won big games, etc.

Turns out Getz wasn't wrong to get Booser, we just suck at developing pitching.

Just from a prospect perspective, I think Sato actually profiles a lot like Mune offensively. I think Mune has more power and plate discipline, while Sato has a slightly better hit tool. I thought Sato would be much better at making contact in NPB given he just won the triple crown, but his contact rates are only about 3% better than Mune's in NPB. That's far below (around 10% lower) Okamoto and Seiya Suzuki's NPB numbers. Just for reference, Okamoto made a ton of contact in Japan and even he struck out nearly 30% this year in MLB. It seems like Sato is better against velocity and off-speed pitches, so that may help his transition to MLB, but his mediocre plate discipline may limit his ceiling. Still, a guy who struck out nearly 27% of the time in NPB will most likely strike out at >30% clip in MLB. He might profile a lot like Okamoto, but just more in his prime with more power and better defense.

Can the Sox afford to outbid other clubs to get Sato patrolling in LF or RF? Probably not. Can Soxtalk work it's magic again and get Sato on the team? Definitely.

Hearing some of these stories about him not being able to sleep while he was in the UK because it was risky and yet he somehow started and played is crazy. Wish Hurts all the best and hope he can get treated and healthy.

That was I believe his lowest air yards thrown in a game in his career - I have to think him watching from the sidelines played a part in that, also the gameplan was probably designed to get Caleb some early confidence - but to his credit he executed excellently.

Exactly - Roschon doesn't fumble and I don't even know if the defensive starters are back. Offense looked smooth and Roschon was on pace for a nice run when he fumbled. I think Monagai is out again this week. Hopefully Bears can execute the short-turn around and play a crisp game and win against Pats. Would be huge and then they can get the extra rest which they will absolutely need and hopefully get Kyle back at that point (plus we'd be getting Montez back too).

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
This is the kind of thing that I like to spin my wheels on - if one could start from scratch, what features does one want within a stadium; what kind of food; how would the levels of seating be done best; etc. You bringing up the heat/cool makes me ponder how much of an infield main concourse could be climate-controlled (or at least offset, and by what means? geothermal heat pumps feeding radiant heat in the floors? those heat lamps in the ceiling?). I like that Kansas City is thinking about maximizing shade for their seating bowl - how could the same be best done here? Stuff like that. For example, if I could change anything about how baseball stadiums lay out their seating, I'd find a way to bring the suite level down to immediately beneath the concourse (and lowering the upper level down), and I'd spread the super-premium seating area (today's Scout Seats) into 5-6 identical zones separated/interspersed/encircled by regular seats. I've sat in the Scout Seats - I was really close to the action, but not appreciably closer than I was when I sat to either side.

Could be the script for The Rookie 2 Started at Oregon State like Drew Rasmussen, Kwan, Madrigal Rutschman, Larnach, Conforto "In 2017, Booser was suspended 50 games after testing positive for cannabis.[8][9] After making three appearances for Fort Myers during the season, Booser retired on November 20, 2017.[2] Booser returned to the Seattle area to work as a carpenter.[2][10] Missing baseball, he began to give pitching lessons in 2020, and found that he could throw a fastball at 96 miles per hour (154 km/h).[2]"
