Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox
Plus, by extension, Mead's success (along with the success of our other youngsters, Grichuk, etc.) helps to build a little more trade value for all of our hitters and reclamation project bats.

Monty's each cleared the bases. Thought Heidi Watney went to Apple.

Will Venable's Managing
Seems pretty apparent he is going to win manager of the year to me.

2027 - MLB Draft Thread
This years draft might sustain the minors for 3-4 years all by itself.

7/17 Games
The Sox catching core is deep. What if Boston Smith keeps going strong until September? I honestly know nothing about his defense. It's hard to judge a trade this early, but this guy looks like Willie McCovey in his prime right now. Weirdest part is he keeps improving the higher up he gets.

Game 2 Konerko GS, Pods game winning bomb. Game 3 Crede bomb, multiple hits in 5 run inning. Blum bomb on the 14th. Anecdotes are fun.

So pumped to see how Thorpe does. I’m higher on him than most.

Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox
To be fair, Fuller deserves a ton of credit for Mead’s season. Last year they sent him away with a clear plan: stop being a tweener. Bulk up and look to hit for damage. They gave him swing fixes to achieve that. Mead was blocked, out of options, and played in the WBC so the Sox didn’t get a full look at the results of those changes. Also, Boston Smith is not a terrible outcome.

Fedde/Pham/$ to STL, Kopech to LAD, Miguel Vargas + prospects to Sox
They had a neutral run differential, so all you really had to do is add a proven arm like Seranthony Dominguez to close out the close games and you're a .500 team!

I find it very unlikely that we end up seeing both Pereira and Hays on the active roster unless somebody gets hurt. You're probably going to see Hays get a very long rehab stint that culminates with him being released if that's what it comes down to.

He does not.

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
If they get second half Shane Smith from last year, they don’t need Singer or Detmers. Personally, I love Detmers, but not at the cost of two really high first rounders.

Great minds think alike.

If a tree falls on an uninhabited island and there’s no one around, does it matter what time it fell?

Three White Sox DSL prospects voted to allstar game
Sox only have one team. Some other teams split into two teams, which will water down the talent level of each of the two teams. Since the Sox only have one team, it’s not watered down at all, which is why you expect their record to be much better.

Three White Sox DSL prospects voted to allstar game
Currently the Sox have one team in the DSL. They will have two after they open their new facility. Many orgs already have two DSL teams. @southsider2k5 expressed surprise that despite NOT splitting their talent, the Sox still have such a terrible record in the DSL.

Webb has 2 more years of control after this season. I don't know if SF is interested in trading, but they could demand a haul.

7/18 Games
Sox don’t have a lot of pitching depth right now, but those are two guys who could help out in the second half. Especially Smith. Need them to shove tonight.

The Sox might be able to flip one of the two, Baltimore just traded for a backup OF with KC. I agree that Grichuk is safe but Perez most likely get sent down.

Webb or Wacha. If attainable.

Win today. Take the series and just keep pushing. BTW who are these guys wearing Sox uniforms?

**Water-Cooler Thread (TV stuff)**
I liked “Stick” a lot. Owen Wilson and Judy Greer played those roles very well with a very sad story between them. Maron just being his grumpy self was funny too

Great way to start the second half, now it’s time to start breaking away from the field and build a nice lead in the standings.
