I can, because it has been. The fact that players get DFAed when there are no other teams who want to trade for them isn't "bad roster management". The fact that somebody like Wikelman Gonzalez made it all the way down to the Marlins means that more than half the league (who probably have shitty records, in part, because of a lack of credible bullpen arms) - passed on him. He got injured. He's probably overweight. He hasn't snapped back to his 2025 form after recovering. They took a flier on him and he didn't work out. Next. I really can't understand the people who, after every single DFA of a guy who just didn't work out, kneel down on the ground, cry, and shake their fists at the sky.

Smith has such a funky ass delivery and appears to have tremendous spin rates on all his pitches based on how early some guys were committing. To me it looks like something you can work with, even rocking a very high walk rate. We'll see how he looks when teams get better data, but that was a pretty solid debut. If he's coming out of the pen he just needs 30 juiced pitches so if he walks someone, go get that strikeout at max effort next batter.

I find those numbers shocking, honestly. July he had a .653 OPS, .750 so far in August. I think it's these numbers that make me believe he's not hitting..... Runners on this season, a .607 OPS RISP this season, a .404 OPS
