Resident SoxTalk member leading in multiple Section108 awards!
But did Jerry Reinsdorf give him a ring? Didn't think so.

Harris did fill in admirably for Laureno and help get SD to playoffs...high batting average low power and barely adequate defender. Had a decent average in limited Sox at bats as well.

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Yeah, it does seem far-fetched. I doubt the Bears will pick this over the Arlington Park property. But it's interesting to see what a major architectural firm imagines for this site. Looks like the stadium would be built between 37th and Pershing with development not only north of that but also on the other side of the Ryan with a ped bridge crossing at 37th. The article says the Wentworth Gardens public housing would have to be relocated. Good luck with that. What about the senior housing right next to Rate Field as well as the Air Force Academy and the church that is there? Those would have to go. Ald. Lee in the article confirms what we already know - the Sox don't want to stay at Rate Field. She said the Sox haven't talked to them about what it would take to get them to stay.

Assholes can have all of those attributes without it being a “diagnosis”. It’s also a convenient excuse for all the other stupid things he has done in his career. That mental crisis must have also made him joke about Ron Santo being a double amputee (“stumps”) in 2005 and comment on Aiyana Cristal’s “giant boobs” in 2015. The poor afflicted victim…

You wouldn't think so, but if anyone could do it, it's JR.

Not the bird "Cardinal" but the Catholic "Cardinal".

If the Bears move to Bridgeport maybe they will rename themselves as the Chicago Cardinals.

Per the Sun-Times: Bridgeport Bears? Chicago firm releases plans for glitzy new domed stadium at Sox park site This is a little silly, but I thought it’d be worth sharing. Kinda cool to see a professional visualization for an unofficial (and far-fetched) concept.

Indeed. I’ve been of the belief that an environmental study will be conducted and the community will have some level of input since the start of this. Nothing surprising, but still nice to see we’ve finally made it to this point.

So it’s not a mental health thing, he just had major issues with rage, ego and a negative personality. Glad you cleared that up.

2027 Rotation
Perhaps this is a suggestion Thorpe could thrive with.

2027 Rotation
With the continuing decrease in starters inning there is of course more innings to be covered by the pen. With a limitation on the number of pitchers, there really should be a role for a glue guy. Glue guy defined as (another old term) a rubber arm who can give you a couple of innings multiple days in a row. With max effort guys that is very hard to do. Richards kind of did that. Unreal what a Mike Marshall (106 games 208 ip or 90 games 142 ip at 36yo) or a Wilbur Wood would be worth to a team. Ok since both have passed away not worth much but someone pitching like them. With everything focusing on velocity, could movement etc make a comeback?

Derek Shomon and Ryan Fuller's Approach to Hitting
Thanks. Looking at the data. We are good at not swinging outside the zone. Swing at a lot in zone. However our contact rates on those are around 28-29 out of 30 teams. The sell out for power? Scewed by a few?

Did Dan know his children were adults when making that threat? I doubt it and he doesn't deserve the benefit of said doubt.

2026 MILB Catch-All
Yeah you could see it before the season started when he pitched in the prospect game last spring. Everyone was wild that game, but Oppor wasn’t throwing anything near the zone.

I love how Schriffen so emphatically praised Pham yet Pham is the same guy that threw his clown ass out of the locker room. 🤣
