Inside Look at White Sox Draft Room via Jesse Rodgers/ESPN
Great article, but didn’t Roch say the Sox informed him that he’d be their pick on Thursday? So how was this discussion taking place on Friday?

Madrigal and Vaughn might not have survived the Sox clubhouse visits, had they been invited.... Would also have been interesting to see how/when they eliminated Lackey from consideration, as well as Flora.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Appreciate Kenzo's diplomacy, but I also kind of love the attitude. These White Sox aren't fighting for the approval of anyone other than the guys in the room. Side note, it's gotta be a pretty fun whirlwind year for Kenzo too. Probably didn't expect to be walking the ASG red carpet and facilitating conversations with the national media and other MLB stars in his first year. Japanese fans seem really complimentary of him compared to other interpreters around MLB (though some think Shohei's previous guy might have been a little bettor...)

Didn't Buerhle want to be a Cardinal? I know.

I am with you. The old regime would have rushed him to Chicago to sell some tickets or held him down to manipulate team control. How about allowing his development determine when he comes up?

7/17, Sox @ Blue Jays, 11:15 PM Azores Summer Time
Looking ahead at the remaining series for the AL Central prior to the trade deadline Aug 3rd. Each team with 5 series/16 games. The Tigers have by far the easiest schedule, but also the most ground to cover. The final week the Sox play the Yankees and Rays while the others play <.500 teams. Going to be one of the rare times I am rooting for the Cubs this next week. Sox: 3 @ TOR .469 3 @ TEX .510 3 vs. HOU .480 4 vs. NYY .563 3 @ TBR .596 Guardians: 3 vs. PIT .515 4 vs. MIN.495 3 @ TBR .596 3 @ CIN .453 3 vs. ARI .510 Twins: 3 @ CHC .563 4 @ CLE .526 3 vs. OAK .427 3 vs. KCR .392 3 @ SEA .495 Tigers: 3 @ LAA .392 3 @ CHC .563 4 vs. KCR .392 3 vs. BAL .474 3 @ OAK .427

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Picks & Discussion
The new murderers' row is a bit of an overstatement. I'm overjoyed with the way things are trending for the Sox much earlier than I expected, but almost anybody on this list could go poof. This reminds me of when we used to just list out the names Moncada, Eloy, Abreu, Robert, Anderson...and Andrew Vaughn will be coming up, too! And Madrigal! We're already winning the division with this young core, just imagine when they all mature a couple more years! When Kopech is our ace! We all know what happened with that, but honestly that "murderers' row" was more plausible at the time than the one making up a team a few games over .500. I'm not ready to declare the likes of Chase Meidroth or Kyle Teel to be mainstays for years to come just yet. Wow, I sound like a real wet blanket! But I'm feeling a little whipsawed by the sudden turn to uncritical projections of a core that hasn't proven it can sustain success, and best-case projections for draft prospects who haven't proven anything yet. Am I on the right message board? I'm still a White Sox fan after all.

Gonzo & Eisert Traded to Pirates for Comp Pick and Jaden Woods
I hope you can wait 8-10 years because that's the window they're talking about if they indeed are going with the Amtrak yard.

I see nothing in this article or any other source that I've read that suggests the Sox intend to move him to 2B. What they said was to note his versatility to play 2B, SS, or 3B. That is NOT the same thing as saying they're pegging him as their future 2B. "He then emphasized Cholowsky's defensive versatility, noting his ability to play second base, shortstop or third base without any concerns."

Well yeah, most trades are usually prospects/young players for veterans. Or veterans for prospects/young players depending on if you're buying or selling.

Just another article that reinforces what I said about how open and transparent the Sox are being with the philosophies. It started with Garfien interviewing just about every guy in the front office so if you pay attention you almost know them as much as you do the players and better than you knew the FO in the Hahn/ Williams era. There guys are all modern and media friendly.

After I’m able to make good money and buy something like that you can crash anytime 😆 Let’s talk in 5 years about it 😆😆

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Picks & Discussion
Right , just about everyone he hired is a guy with experience in various areas of development and front office acumen. They go with a certain kind of player that everyone is in tune with and they don't deviate. Everyone is on the same page and departments communicate. It's ensemble management. They want the hitters to be more LH than RH although BPA still applies, OBP/ good swing decisions and slug, good character from strong family. I'm missing more but that's the crux of it. Pitching is harder to pin down and Sox have had a lot of pitching injuries in Getz's early tenure so I don't know if it's fair to say Bannister is on the hot seat. Pitchers just take longer and their throwing arm is their biggest asset. You don't really care much about the same tools as you do with hitters. Everything they do is tied to that 1 arm and your physical development. You need that man body like Crochet got before he broke out.

Building a new stadium + signing an all-timer are pretty big moves. They're also 3rd in the Eastern Conference standings.

it's funny just because it ends with them all committing to each other that he doesn't have to ascend any faster just because of college or needs of mlb roster.

The same writers show up to the All-Star game, regardless of where it's played, right?

Top 20 Prospects (Pre Draft)
For your sake, I’m glad we didn’t draft Lackey. Your head would explode trying to figure out who to rank higher between Bonemer and Lackey.

Said it before. Who would've thought I'd trust our hitting development much more than our pitching development these days.

There’s a world where Braden is the best of all of them. IMO

And somehow that's not even considering Peters or B. Montgomery. I know Peters could just be a flash in the pan and Braden has more to do, but they're here and under control.

Top 20 Prospects (Pre Draft)
Bonemer over Roch 100 out of 100 times. Defensive edge probably makes roch safer, but I'll take the guy who is younger and pulling a wRC+ of 134 in pro ball across A+ and AA over the older guy with a 146 wRC+ in college every single time.
