  4. They are about to go on a road winning streak!!!
  5. Isn't 4.2 seconds from a right handed hitter a 60-65 FV grade for speed? That's wild if it turns out Bonemer has a 60 FV for speed instead of 40. That puts him in another level as a prospect, offensively and defensively. That's so exciting.
  6. So odd having a team that Law is supportive of. I dig it. Our hatred for him was a delusion.
  7. Where are you seeing Caleb has ++ speed? From what I've seen Roch is 50/50 speed and Bonemer is 40/40. Bonemer is going to be a freaking stud though. I'm so high on his bat. I'm assuming he can play 2B and 3B, not just LF. Never know what will happen with our roster. His bat will play at any of those positions though. Dude had 18 bombs in 61 games in A+ and he is currently holding his own in AA as a 20 year old. We might see him up next season if he keeps doing well in AA. Start him in AAA and call him up mid season if he's raking.
  8. The failure of the Sale trade/ Robert rebuild I think was a wakeup call to the foolish old man. He knew something was still wrong, and he still didn’t know what (which was basically him). I just think he stumbled around until finally realizing he was out of time, someone convinced him you have to stock the minors organically. He was still super awkward in empowering Getz and co, and obviously got lucky with Getz because the hiring process was Jerry B ***** 101, and Jerry is still doing Jerry things. But basically he began using his frontal lobe more than ever because he’s gonna die soon, and desperately opened up his mind to change before the clock runs out. Thats the movie.
  9. I'm in the minority of what, people who like loud and obnoxious ? Sure OK great I am but money still has nothing to do with who I watch so telling me why someone is making a lot of money still means nothing to me or why I tuned in this time. I dislike the guy like people dislike Schriff , arguing about it doesn't change my personal choice.
  10. Well, I guess you are in the minority then. The two highest paid talents on ESPN are — #1 Stephen A. Smith and #2 Pat McAfee. These two get paid the most because they generate the most revenue for ESPN. Sames goes for Mune. More talent and revenue generation equals a higher salary. There’s a reason Mune signed for $34 million and not the minimum. So that’s why money has to do with everything.
  11. That's like saying a Sox fan is for likely to pick a Cub because he is from Chicago, which is complete fantasy. Philly HATES NYC, they would pick the crust in their asscrack over someone from New York.
  12. What does money have to do with anything? OK he's got a fan base as a whatever it is he does . Big loud personality's have their place in the crazy internet/TV world but Sox fans are still watching only because of Mune . I think Stephen A. Smith still has a job but I never watch him. As far as interviewing baseball players frankly I'd rather watch Kevin Millar, Santos and Dempsey do their interview with Vargas because it was about Vargas and they all took turns talking to him. I have no idea who or what the other 3 guys were doing on that panel with McAfee . Doesn't seem like a share the spotlight type.
  13. Defensive excellence is less scarce than offensive excellence. Even with the attention and emphasis on defense and baserunning in the modern era, the fact remains that someone will always find a place for a top tier bat who can't defend while top tier defenders who can't hit have short lived careers. I think Bonemer is a top tier bat. And he's a good athlete to boot and isn't a worthless defender. Is he as good as roch, sounds like no, but he can play the field and has ++ speed which roch doesn't have. I'd bet on caleb to be a stand out offensive player more than I'd bet on roch to be, which is why I'd take bonemer over Roch.
  14. It's hard to know who is given access to certain things or gets to view the game from the press box. There are probably a lot more NY guys with press credentials just because of having 2 teams and the Yankees being the Yankees in the most populated area in the US. However that doesn't mean they all get to vote for the MVP , fans voted too. I think Vile's loyalty to Vargas is fine but as others have said if you shut out the other team then the 1st 2 RBI's that broke a scoreless tie are the most important runs of the game. That's how they used to score some as a GWRBI but that is no longer a thing in the box score. While the Vargas HR was fun and exciting to us because it truly was a special moment and a Big Ol' Bomb, it was just a run added on making the score go from 3-0 to 4-0. His other AB doesn't even enter the calculus nor do the 2 other outs Bellinger made.
  15. A loud ESPN personality that makes a ton of money. Must be some sort of new strategy or something… 🤣
  16. Chicago is just a cow town. They sign s%*# in Philly.
  17. With respect does it even matter who was MVP of a meaningless exhibition game based on popularity?
  18. From the Sun-Times story tonight: "The start of the second half could be dangerous for a Sox team that has been insatiable at home (31-17) but toothless on the road (19-28). Twelve of the Sox’ next 19 games are away from Rate Field, while the Guardians have 13 of 20 on home turf. If the Sox can keep up with the Guardians into August, though, they’ll be in a strong enough position that general manager Chris Getz could tip the scales with the right pitching acquisition or two at the deadline."
  19. I don't care I'm not tuning in to watch him . He's just some loud personality that seems to be en vogue.
  20. I don’t understand your logic. East Coast bias is East Coast bias. Yes, a guy from Philly, Boston, or Baltimore is more likely to vote for a guy on an East Coast team, especially a player from the AL East division. A writer from a Sox rival, say Minnesota or Cleveland, is more likely, even as rivals, to vote for Vargas from another AL central team. Writers take care of their regional own. Look at the voting for the Heisman Trophy voting: a quarterback from Michigan will get every vote from Ohio rather than a writer from a Big Ten school vote for a guy from the SEC.
  21. Might make more sense to play Bonemer at second...leave Antonacci in the outfield, as Sam profiles as just an average 2B and a notch or two below Meidroth. Colson 3B/SS/DH Roch SS Bonemer 2B/3B/DH Vargas 1B/3B/DH Mune ??? Carlson and Meidroth ???
  22. Yes and no. Point one: I have to think the voting was very close between Vargas and Bellinger. My evidence is that on the post game show, an announcer said something like, “they’re bringing Vargas over for an interview.” Then he said something like “that seems to be a big clue to who’s about to be named MVP of the game.” He said that. Does anyone else remember him saying that? Strong evidence that the voting was probably close. Point 2: I think (but I don’t actually know) that there are a large number of sports writers who would travel nationally, whether the game was in Miami or Seattle. But I have to also believe there were a ton of upper east coast sports writers who were local and don’t travel nationally, who would not be there if the game were played in Cleveland or St. Louis: that would radio guys, podcasters, bloggers. I would guess guys who would probably be from, let’s say, New York, Philly, or New York or Boston or maybe New York or Baltimore or say New York. It wouldn’t take too many of these local sports guys with their East Coast bias to swing that vote for Bellinger.
