  1. Past hour
  2. Correct, but he could get ranked when they update. I imagine he will due to name recognition/contract alone. Abreu was ranked after he signed.
  3. I can’t get over how nice that catch and throw were and I’m hoping one thing that comes from Rome going down is it helped get DJ and Caleb in a better place and when everyone gets back, we see another step forward. Caleb still has plenty of warts but even with those warts he’s already pretty good looking and these warts are treatable…he’s going to be a superstar if he keeps putting in the work and partnering with this coaching staff.
  4. That would be my guess, but he also plays RF, so maybe.
  5. Contract details here: https://www.foxsports.com/articles/mlb/white-sox-add-munetaka-murakami-with-34-million-2year-contract
  6. Awesome. 2 years is shorter risk for JR and helps the player prove his value for the market. I'm assuming we are out of the running for O'Hearn now?
  7. I don't see any need or urgency to dump the Sox depth like Quero or Sosa. They are still young players and quality depth is important; having good depth is major upgrade from the last 2 seasons. Mead on this team is just silly (still have no idea why Sox protected him). If they must trade, please do so with full diligence: no more mediocre middle relievers and please stop trading for org guys.
  8. Only way I’m trading Robert to the Mets is if they’re getting back one of McClean, Tong, Sproat, or Benge. Otherwise hold onto him and let him hit in the new look lineup
  9. Bingo. You get rid of his salary and see what you can do with that money to add. I don't think many realize how valuable that Reds comp pick is too.
  10. As currently constructed, I think a high leverage reliever is our biggest need. Our expected W-L last year was 70-92, which is 10 games better than we actually finished. Finish stronger in close games, see continued growth from the kids, and get some of the TJS-impacted arms back and we could surprise a bit next year IMO.
  11. They need a few legit arms to make any kind of run anyway. Robert isn’t going to be the difference between going to playoffs or not. If they can get a comp pick for this draft from Reds or Pirates, with a couple extra pieces, that would be great.
  12. Players generally pick teams they think will try to trade for them, then the player has more control over their situation. They don't pick teams that won't trade for them.
  13. I mean, obviously a guy who just got 34 million isn't a premier free-agent. That said, great signing. No risk, payroll is in the dumps. Big upside. I'm personally skeptical of those contact rates translating to the big leagues but who gives a s%*#. 2 year deal, Sox have no one else. He'll be exciting, at least for a little while. Also really nice to see us get back into Asia more generally speaking. ++ move.
  14. I would still like to see 1 more bat added to be honest. I think there’s enough arms in the organization to eat innings, and the $ we are going to spend on a pitcher probably isn’t going to get any real difference maker. Get another viable bat at either 3B or RF and put a solid and exciting lineup out there.
  15. Very unexpected but it's nice to see the Sox doing something that on paper can be productive for next season. His contract appears to be one that JR was OK with, only two years.
  16. I think trading Robert would be completely unproductive and would damper the Murakami signing for me. Whatever you think of him at this point, he’s the best option they have in CF.
  17. Nice to wake up to white sox organization doing something.
  18. Perhaps the highest AAV. Passan said that other teams tried to sign him to larger overall contracts with a lower annual salary.
