The Phillies have painful experience with "acquire Austin Hays at the trade deadline" in 2024 (in fact, they traded Seranthony Dominguez to the Orioles for Hays); he was oft-injured and gave them -0.4 WAR in 22 games. As for Pereira, they already have outfielders that can hit .230 - I don't see that meeting their needs for an upgrade. Perhaps he'd have more value if he produces for awhile at the Major League level first.

I want Shea Langoliers and I'm willing to trade Teel as part of a package for him I doubt you could use him as the main piece with all these injuries, but Shea has 3 more full seasons of cheap control so you're getting a beast that's locked up for a few more years question is, do you give up legit pieces like Teel or Bonemer for a legit catcher or do you go after a SP Probably SP, but man I want Langoliers on this team

lol what does this even mean? We aren’t allowed to talk about him because he is trying to get healthy? Sports media is supposed to stop doing their jobs? Us talking about him doesn’t make a difference

This caught my attention, holy cow what a stacked lineup.

2024 was the Orioles 101-win, divisional champion season. They were already at the top of the win curve. They needed dominant starting pitching to get further in the playoffs. Over two post-seasons, they went 0-5. They were arguably in their window. 2024 was the year for the Orioles to pull the trigger. I think that year is next year for the White Sox.

Yea you are right, Teel is likely done this year, but no reason to formally shut him down. A better course would be for everyone, especially the sports media, to back off and give him all the space he needs to physically and mentally pursue his rehab. Teel thinks he can make it back in 5-8 wks instead of 6-12. So what?

I’d keep Pereira and trade Hays.

Kyle Teel ankle injury
It’s amazing how many times we’ve been through this and how many times you pound your fists and refuse to listen. We lacked critical player development infrastructure when Hahn was GM both in terms equipment & technology and data & analytics. The moment Getz became GM he invested and fixed those areas. Not very hard to connect the dots here and realize that KW & Hahn were a major hindrance to be successful as the PD Director under that regime.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
I didn't know the Seahawks stadium was next to the Mariners stadium, excellent photos. I guess all we can do is see what Ishbiia's next move is with the rail yard.

Ok so tell me which one? With Austin Hays and Everson Pereira both due to be off the IL, Perez will go away. Both have no options left. Who stays and who gets traded or waived. Who is the keeper right now. Which one?

This isn't the thread about the new stadium you don't have to be a grump.

Is Schriffen now jinxed by another awkward Benetti-esque food faux pas? Karl Ravech to replace … ?

But then again, Getz was also one trade away from a pimp ass cheap ass outfield. Mena for Jake McCarthy instead of Fletcher, along with the Tristan Peters pickup. Guy was one failed trade away from building one of the best cheapest outfields in Sox history — Antonacci, Peters, and McCarthy. Three outfielders all around ~.800 OPS making trash money.

Arrowhead Stadium has already hosted a number of major concerts. It doesn't look like KC is too small for huge acts like Beyonce and Taylor Swift. https://www.concertarchives.org/venues/geha-field-at-arrowhead-stadium

My favorite or actually least favorite "guest friend" on this site was that Astros fan that hung out for the last playoff series we were in. I remember finally breaking down when he was helpfully giving us an injury update of someone on Houston and I posted ",WILL YOU JUST GET THE FRIG OUTTA HERE".....but I didn't say frig.

Interestingly, Seattle’s T-Mobile Park gets around the excess space that a retractable roof needs by positioning the roof above railroad tracks. However, the view of outside the stadium is limited because of that. Now, please allow me to speculate: If that area were set up so that the railroad tracks, or railyard, housing the stadium’s roof were behind left field, as opposed to beyond right field, then spectators could have a full, unobstructed view of beyond the park. This is significant because that’s exactly what Amtrak’s 14th St. Yard could allow for. The area I’ve outlined in yellow is Amtrak’s yard. The area I’ve outlined in red is BNSF’s yard. If arranged, Ishbia’s stadium could use the air space above BNSF’s yard to house a potential roof, similarly to T-Mobile Park’s setup. It would come from across the other side of the field, but I see no reason why that couldn’t be done. I don’t mean to rant about something purely hypothetical, but I figured you all on this forum might appreciate the concept. Hopefully we hear more news on the stadium front soon.

We traded him for Cam Booser right? Wonder what Getz thought process was with that one.

Same, but I also remember prospect hugging dooming the Orioles. Who can forget the O's "friends" that we had?
