  1. Past hour
  2. You can never have enough DH/1B types. As a Sox fan, I expect you to know these things.
  3. Today
  4. I was stationed in South Dakota with the USAF in 1966 but a couple of buddies and me took a drive to the Twin Cities that summer for a Sox-Twins game, Twins won as they were coming off a trip to the World Series in 1965 while the Sox were a little better than a .500 team in 1966 finishing 83-79 after 3 great years winning 94, 98 and 95 games, Sox were probably trying to get used to new manager Eddie Stanky after the great run by Al Lopez. IIRC the BoSox lost over 100 games in 1966 but beat out our Sox in 1967 in the great 4 team pennant race of 1967. All 4 teams had a chance to win the pennant on the last weekend, most of us Sox fans remember how bad it turned out for us.
  5. I enjoyed Chuck Garfein's comments in the face of some aggressive and understandable questioning by AJ including past and future spending on player contracts. Anyway, I enjoyed the bantar.
  6. I think his body would combust trying to run down a ball in the gap.
  7. Apparently this guy worked for the Boston Globe and somehow recorded Red Sox highlights from 1966-1972. A White Sox Lee Elia home run??? July 2, 1966: https://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1966/B07020CHA1966.htm
  8. For a crew that called basically everything under the sun (and the most penalties on average per game), I don't know how they missed that.
  9. This was one of the first games all year where he just got abused on crossers by Pearsall. He had been playing like the best corner on the team before this game. It can't help that he was sick and injured leading up to the game.
  10. This was all without Trent Williams too. Our dline got manhandled by an oline without their best player.
  11. The only way the Bears get the Rams is if the Rams lose to the Cardinals or Falcons. I don't see that happening, but you never know. If the Rams win out, they are locked into the 5 seed. If the Bears lose next week and the Eagles win, they will get the loser of the 49ers and Seahawks game.
  12. Yeah they weren't ready on that play. The 49ers rushed 3 and got pressure immediately because the protection wasn't correct. I know they wanted to get the right play for 4th and 5, but wasting that timeout ended up burning them in the end. Oh well, hopefully Burden will be ok for the playoffs. Otherwise, losing this wasn't a huge deal. They played well, it just wasn't enough in the end.
  13. A lot of over analyzing that final play. DJ Moore apparently is on the opposite side jumping and waving for the ball since he’s open. Someone else out there saying Caleb should have thrown to Swift immediately to do a foot race for the score. Johnson said they didn’t line up in the way he wanted which he said is on him.
  14. I doubt him running around the OF would be good for all of the pulls he seems to get.
  15. Really sucks with Luther. I think at this point I’m resting my starters but in Ben I trust.
  16. If Moncada could play the OF, he could be a decent utility guy assuming he comes dirt cheap. That being said, I doubt the Sox have real interest in him.
  17. For me personally this would be awesome. Braden Fiske on the Rams Dline went through my high school.
  18. So then Quero has to get moved then, right?
  19. Thank god someone else said it. He can’t play OF or run for that matter.
  20. Hamstring is much better than knee...although hammy can linger. You guys prolly should sit him out next week.
  21. Caleb 270 yards away from 4,000 passing yards.
  22. They’ve DFAed guys during the last year of their contract, Danks and Keuchel come to mind. They also DFAed Leury with 2 years left I believe. But given how much Benintendi is making by White Sox standards, I highly doubt they will DFA him at any point next season.
  23. Anyone but Tauchman - he can't play in the field either. Watching him in the field or just run in general in September was like watching one of those commercials of dogs locked in cages with no food.
  24. That's a rough draw for Chicago either way (assuming Love is healthy). The Rams are probably the best all around team in the league.
  25. To get the #2 seed the Bears have to beat the Lions or the Eagles have to lose to Washington (I wouldn't put money on that happening with Philly). If the Bears get the #2 seed they get the Packers. If they get the #3 seed they probably get the Rams. Regarding the team overall, one of the top two priorities this off season has to be getting some game wreckers on defense, guys teams have to specifically plan for (and fear.) You simply can't expect to outscore everybody all the time or hope for luck at the end to get you through.
