  3. They lost to the same team 5-2 earlier this year. They aren't that good.
  4. I really don't want to include Bonemer in any trades. The comparison I've seen most of Gunnar Henderson. Obviously we don't expect him to stay at SS though. LF/2B/3B are options for him. Below are their stats in A+ (since Caleb just got done there). I know this is simplistic comparison lacking some more important details/context. And obviously Gunnar became way better than expected, but Caleb was clearly the better offensive player in A+. I think he's got the chance to be an offensive monster in the MLB. Middle infielder with 40 HR potential. That's tough to part with. Player| Age| Level| Games| HR| AVG| OBP| SLG| OPS Gunnar Henderson (2021 Aberdeen)| 20 years| High-A| 65 games| 9 hr| .230 avg| .343 obp| .432 SLG| .775 OPS Caleb Bonemer (2026 Winston-Salem)| 20 years| High-A| 61 games| 18 hr| .238 avg| .381 obp| .556 SLG| .937 OPS

Romero pulled after 1 AB. Ruh roh
  6. The top 3 are crazy good. Can't go wrong with Roch, Vahn or Emerson. Teel might end up future LFer, Atonacci 2nd base and Lackey catching. Or Roch plays 2nd base. Or you wait 3 or 4 years for Emerson or Carlson and see how Colson's back is feeling by then and what happens with Mune.
  7. Or he just gets better at it. He moved pretty fast from draft pick to MLB then switched positions. 2 years ago he was at Coastal Carolina . 3 years ago he was at a Division 2 Community College. That's a huge leap. Patience Padawan.
  8. Trump injected politics. Not enough. They got blown out.
  9. They're going to get a pretty substantial deal with whoever they take. I see this being in the $9.5-$9.75 million range regardless with at least $1.5 million in savings at #1. I still lean Cholowsky for lots of reasons but I wouldn't be surprised by Enerson. I'd be shocked if they took Vahn Lackey.
  10. our bullpen is our weakness, still don't see how it was crazy him to be close. We have too many lefties in the bullpen, he could have been up pretty easily IMO but just DFA one of them

  12. Huh? He has Roch at SS in that scenario.
  13. I really think Peters is the heart of this team much like I think Rowand was when he patrolled CF.
  14. I wanted to use this thread as a random opportunity to state unequivocally: f*** CLEVELAND!
  15. Wonder if having Teel and Lackey split catching duties with Lackey going to DH / right field and Braden moving to center and Teel DHing when Vahn is catching… Could this keep them both fresh, protect their health, and be something the team values? Or… talk about over thinking things 😆 ?
  16. The pirates price is either too high, they changed course, or they’re getting ready to take the best offer. One of many questions that we get an answer to in the next five days!
  17. "well past" the key phrasing there
  18. Doyle on Bumila. Not sure how I feel about this one. Two elbow injuries in two years might be too much for me. I think I'd rather just throw money at a healthier high upside prep arm at this point. It's a strong suit of the class. One wouldn't be hard to find at 41. Bolemon/Borthwick/Slightom/Waschmann. https://overslotbaseball.com/articles/mlb-draft-brody-bumila-injury/
  19. DING DING DING. This is THE question of the draft if I’m in the Sox FO / scouting dept.
  20. This is also true and it highlights that Peters could actually end up being our best emergence this year. Wow.
  21. This is why I wish lackey in cf was a viable option. The scenario you describe still doesn’t account for our 1.1 guy and it’s already amazing.
  22. can't really put together a realistic 3-4 piece depth package when everyone will be targeting Bonemer
  23. But were also one of the few teams to take out the Dodgers in 2022. Cease was one of the main culprits for the more recent blown 2-1 series lead. Clevinger fell apart in a prior NLCS.
