I just watched the highlights and it looked like Cleveland had an awesome game plan against him: spit on everything but the high 4 seam and then don’t miss it. Maybe it was missing some jump at the end, but they crushed his fastball.

With the looming Teel news this was a fantastic little pickup during the day.

If you get him into a spring training type ramp up schedule, that gets him ready about the first of September around roster expansion time.

He definitely could be a legit SP option down the stretch. Very exciting.

We can revisit the Quero/Romo crowd's opinions in the playoffs when they are both still really bad at the plate. That'll be a fun revisit. Can talk about 2027 then and the looming short season/no baseball.

There’s no such thing as good/young/“under the radar”/cost controlled with all the advances in major league front offices and analytics the last 10-15 years.

It was also premature to declare victory for the Sox as well when Braden Montgomery came up. Meidroth’s on pace for roughly a 2.8-3.2 fWAR, but it feels like half of SoxTalk wants him replaced…some say Antonacci, others argued Jacob Gonzalez, next it will be Bonemer, etc. Braden Montgomery would pace in the 3-3.5 range more based on his defense than offense só far, but recently some still left him off their lists of core players, só the jury’s far from out.

Yep. Go with Quero and Romo (or DFA him and give Turner a shot) and hit them 8th (I would say 9th but I like the idea of a 2nd leadoff hitter in the 9 spot when the lineup flips)

Lodolo and Stephenson, the first ask will be Bonemer. And then you have Lodolo through just 2027, but no certainty over next year. Really can’t even think about parting with Bonemer unless it’s team control through 2027 AND 2028. Just not even sure what type of fallback position the Reds would even accept. Probably both Hagen and McDougal…Sandlin and McDougal isn’t enough, either. Not with how good and durable Lodolo was in 2025.

Roch is a different player with another set of conditioning and diet regimes. But you are right in terms of strength conditioning not having much of a downside. Like anything else though, moderation is the key. Teel gained 20 pounds in just one off-season, partially by his own admission, by increasing his caloric intake, including subs at his Godfather's deli. Maybe too much of a good thing too fast. I had a Godfather deli sandwich from Ambrosino's in Frankfort and had them cut it in half so I could eat the rest later. I'd like to try a KT sandwich at Parkwood Deli.
