  2. Weird perspective for a baseball fan to have considering soccer is a much more action-packed sport. Basketball without a shot clock is hockey, also low-scoring but incredibly fast-paced. Soccer and basketball have very little in common. Also kinda weird to neg the kids for having fun playing a game and not being professionals. Also not true, the kids sitting down picking the grass definitely do not blend in.

  4. The video does exist. It was quite telling. Link: https://www.facebook.com/WhiteSox/videos/tim-anderson-named-al-all-star-starter/1989677341228017/
  5. Door Number 1. Most likely. Sox will not need any more LH bats once Murakami comes back. (LH bats: Colson, Murakami, Teel, Antonacci, Braden, Benintendi) Need a RH bat so Perez stays for the time being. There is no evidence that Gonzalez can play second base at the major league level. There is defensive value in a set infield including positioning, range adjustments, covering second and double plays. '69 Cubs: Santo, Kessinger, Beckert and Banks..2005 White Sox: Crede, Uribe,Iguchi Konerko 2006 White Sox: Vargas, Montgomery, Chase and Murakami. All worked together hand and glove. - Need Acuna more than Gonzo for infield defense, speed on the bases, and his slightly improved RH bat. Sure, if Benintendi were to be traded Gonzo could platoon at DH. That's not going to happen now though, so back to Door #1. Edited to add that it may be more likely that Gonzo gets traded than Benintendi (age, Benintendi's existing contract). I guess we will wait to see if there is interest in either one of them in exchange for pitching.
  6. this is horrifying 😬😆
  7. Of course Boston comes in playing their best baseball all year
  8. It shows the resiliency of this clubhouse. A bad team would fold after 2 gut-splitting, heart-wrenching walk-off losses. This team fought back.
  9. I don't know if Venable is a "good" manager, and he has his dumbass moments, but I don't think it can be put into words his contributions to changing the culture of this organization so quickly.
  10. Alright. I’m finally locked in. Roch should indeed be the pick. Eventually on moving Colson to third ( protect his back and he’s probably going to give better D there than Vargas ), move Vargas to first / DH with Mune ( in the event we extend him ), and benefit from his defense from day one in mid 27 or day one 28. You also get a chance to flex on the development side if you’re able to help him unlock his pull side power ( which we have seen Fuller have success with ). I think he will be the pick and I think it’s the right one. If Lackey was willing and truly athletic enough to excel in a up the middle role on the grass then I would have been swayed to take that kid. Emerson we’d be banking on our development staff having their time to mold him into a player that has more output than Roch but I’m not willing to take that gamble with this staff nor do I want to wait for at least an extra year when our window is already open. I’m going to be on the edge of my seat until Saturday and really hope whatever happens - it ends up being the right draft selection. We’ve missed high in the first round more than we have hit and at 1.1 you CANNOT afford to miss. I feel that this decision, if made correctly, is one of the few things that would push us to an era of controlling the central and finally having the sustained success promised by dweebs of years passed.
  11. People were talking about this being an historically bad OF before the season. Nobody needs to prove anything at this point. If they keep Periera through the end of the year and off-season, they still have 4 young, controlled, strong OFs. Let's not forget Brooks Baldwin. And Tanner Murray probably could have started to figure out hitting in the bigs in a few more weeks.
  12. Yeah, basically, Benintendi Hays Acuna Pereira and Hill...
  13. I think (and I believe Davis Martin has this problem), Murphy lost his concentration after those defensive lapses. He couldn’t collect himself and get back on track.
  14. All rookie OF is fresh baby !
  15. All true, but at the start of the season all three outfield positions were in flux, no more. Nothing is permanent, and foreseeable, is a vague term, but for now anyway. Who would have penciled those three in on opening day?
  16. Since July 4th 2025 Colson Montgomery is tied for 3rd most HR in the majors with Nick Kurtz.
  17. It's crazy how in the moment people emotionally react. Grant Taylor gets a 1,2,3 save and he is the second coming of Mariano Rivera. Next night he walks 2 and let's up a run and those same posters start saying hehe just doesn't have it, not closer material, hope he can stick as a middle reliever.
  18. Peters still has to prove he can repeat. Antonacci might be your 2B still...or platoon with Meidroth, although most won't like that option. Bonemer could also be your next LFer.
  19. I'm not sure what thread this belongs in. I was thinking before the season the outfield was one hot mess. Now it seems with Antonacci in left, Peters in center, and Montgomery in right the Sox are set for now and the foreseeable future.
  20. Kind of like Rick Hahn's AJ Hinch press conference?
  21. Why are you copy and pasting what is clearly AI crap i meant to respond to Caulfield, not you. Why can I not delete a post on this website?
  22. 7th or 8th inning with a short leash. Until he stops walking every other batter, he is virtually useless.
