  2. If Kwan is playing LF does he make the catch on Teel's liner that Martinez flopped on?
  3. We're looking at the scoreboard not the draft board in September.

Came across a story that I had missed of how they started the season in their own park as the away team during a prom. Pretty cool how they scrambled. Maybe some stress relief if you haven't seen it. https://www.mlb.com/news/minor-league-team-hosts-prom-during-a-game
  5. I’d let Sam and Teel stay in the lineup even against a lefty. I think they’ve earned it. I agree with sitting the Montgomery’s though and I honestly wish there was a way to sit Mune too. This is where having another right handed hitting infielder would be nice.
  6. Martin vs. Griffin on the mound. Winning yesterday was absolutely HUGE for our post season chances. We are now effectively up 2.5 games on the guardians with 12 to go. If we can somehow split the next two, that would put us in a tremendous spot to win the AL Central. For context, if we split the next two and then the Guardians went 6-3 down the stretch, that would put them at 83-79 on the season. The Sox would only need to go 5-5 the rest of the way to match their record and win the division. Additionally, we have the tiebreakers over Toronto & Texas, which puts us up 3 1/2 & 4 games on them respectively. Obviously we shouldn’t be excited about limping into the final wild card spot, but it’s admittedly a good safety net that hopefully gets some of the young players to stop pressing. More importantly, we remain 2 games up on the Astros for the #2 seed but they have the tie-breaker. All that said, today is another vitally important game. Of the two remaining, this one feels more winnable than tomorrow. I think Griffin can get got to. I want every RH hitter in the lineup today and take out as many Montgomery’s as possible. In fact, this is what I want to see: Meidroth, 2B Grichuk, RF Vargas, 3B Murakami, 1B* Quero, DH Doyle, CF Peters, LF* Rogers, CA Acuna, SS Not pretty by any means, but I’ll take my chances. Antonacci, Benintendi, & Teel should replace Doyle, Quero, & Rogers as soon as the bullpen dictates. Again, keep Colson & Braden out of this one altogether and hope we have more competitive at-bats. Most importantly, we got to hope that Martin can bring it. The lineup doesn’t matter if Davis turns into a pumpkin. He’s posted a great ERA since coming back (0.84), but it’s been mostly smoke & mirrors. He needs to find a way to strike guys out or the results won’t last. Let’s pray he figures that out and can keep us alive for five or six. Let’s fucking go!!
  7. Maybe not Gonzalez as he’s struggling in Pittsburgh but who’s to say he would have struggled with us.
  8. Next year the Sox will have more reinforcements down on the farm ready to contribute.
  9. Tristain Peters went into Luke Appling mode in that at bat and impacted the game.
  10. I hope Getz reels in a good one.
  11. Today

  12. FIFA would have given him a hydration break.
  13. Smart player. He really used his head on the basepath.
  14. Hill sure. Gonzalez not so much it’s looking.
  15. Later in the season? There is 12 games left lol, “later in the season” is next week
  16. Mind boggling that they did. This is a young, loose clubhouse and you bring in a guy who once punched a teammate over Fantasy Football beef. No idea why someone felt he’d be a good fit and it honestly seems like the team has been playing tighter since he arrived. Just some dumb decision making post draft.
  17. Winning the series would be huge, with 12 games left if we win 7 the division is ours, here’s how, 1 more in Cleveland, 3 of 4 against Detroit at home, 1 in KC and 2 at home against Colorado. If we go 6-6 we probably still win the division but the key is winning 1 more game against the Guards, we have Cleveland down and the pressure is on them.
  18. Acuna should take over SS the rest of the way, a better glove and will get a hit once in awhile. Meanwhile Mune and BMont are problems, they have to go with Grichuk in RF the rest of the way with Doyle as late inning defense. Looking back, trading Derek Hill and Jacob Gonzalez were big mistakes.
  19. Injured teammate Tommy Pham was the most demonstrative person in the Chicago dugout, cheering wildly for Peters. He even celebrated when Peters was hit on the forearm by a pitch from Connor Brogdon in the ninth. “I’m not surprised,” Peters said. “He’s always getting excited by hit-by-pitches and walks.” MLB.com
  20. KC much more confident with K9 in that backfield Nebraska RB2 Johnson looks good too
  21. Foster Griffin CLE starts most recent first 2 1/3 8 6 3 5 2 5 2 6 1 5 1 4 5 lhb 647 ops rhb 723 ops Meidroth is the only Sox player with a hit against Griffin (1/12) Would go Quero dh Acuna ss Doyle cf and Grichuk rf Peters in LF for defense that still leaves Mune at 1B

  23. “It was a very good at-bat by a good player,” said Gavin Williams. “I was counting the number of pitches at one point, then I just stopped counting. “Those at-bats are frustrating. Props to him for the way he did that.” Said Peters, “I felt like I was up there for an hour. I was exhausted. After like eight pitches, I was like, ‘OK, this is getting pretty long.’” Third longest mlb at-bat since 2000...longest since 2020 (It tied for the fifth-most pitches in a plate appearance since they were first tracked in 1988, according to MLB.com’s Sarah Langs. Peters’ plate appearance also matched Adam Kennedy for the most pitches in a walk, accomplished on June 10, 2004, for the Angels against the Brewers, and it was the longest in the Majors this season.) "That was probably one of the best feelings ever,” said Peters (about realizing he'd been hit in the helmet by the throw) Lowe said Peters did a good job of “getting to where he needed to get. I hit him right in the head. I’m pretty sure if I don’t hit him in the head, I hit (shortstop Brayan) Rocchio right in the chest and we have a chance to get two outs." msn.com
  24. I have to say I absolutely despise the whole "let this guy resign" bullshit that companies do. He should be fired for this embarrassing deplorable behavior.
  25. I will feel a lot better if they can win at least one more game this series. Would guarantee at least 1.5 games up with the tie breaker
