  2. So awesome. Thanks for sharing. I love that you got to experience that.

Also Hendricks was amazing, obviously he'd be a great outcome. If we get 20 starts and a 4.5 ERA out of Thorpe one year I'd call that a win at this point. But I don't expect much.
  4. Some of his big at-bats are painful, and it seems to be a mental thing. Alleviating some pressure might be a good thing, but really sucks we don’t have Teel healthy to switch spots in the batting order.
  5. I think it would be a pretty painful haul too. With Carlson plus one of Smith or Schulz, a top 10-15 guy (wolkow/smith). But the people say they want control etc etc
  6. I want this real bad. Go big if you're going to move Carlson.
  7. I would like David Stern to disallow that trade.
  8. I think we pull off a surprise trade for Logan webb. Giants try to time their system and we lose a painful guy like Carlson - who lets be honest just seems more like an NL shortstop.
  9. Just send Skubal to the Dodgers. Rip the bandaid off, get it over with, so the rest of us can fight over the rest.
  10. Or his wrist is worse than they hoped originally. I'm very curious to see if they move him after seemingly being annointed the best catcher to ever live by O's fans since before he came into the league. He would be such a massive upgrade here though even if his current slash lines dwindle a bit, his defense is that good.
  11. I feel like trade rumors have become more boring. They report on them all as a cattle market. 'Here's all the cattle, and here are the people at the cattle market'. Lost all the individual chasing.
  12. Everyone hates a magician when they are on the other team - they want their own magician deep down. See Jonathan Strange + Mr Norrell
  13. Yeah - but key for me is that doesn't even matter. He's now looking like the most impact player for 2026 but isn't coming as the most sought after. Everyone is telegraphing his move to Dodgers - so there is no illusion you get a benefit of having him to negotiate. The tigers HAVE to trade him. It's all depressing it. And it feels like the best deadline deals have always been 'top pitcher with depressed value due to age/salary/control' where they don't get a 'haul' but the team gets big impact. I'd think if we included a Schulz you easily top any offer. We cry about a pitching prospect who hasn't looked tops in a while and instead get a top pitcher this year that takes us to playoffs. The tigers say 'wow we got a top pitching prospect for a guy we were gonna lose?" and I say 'trade top pitching prospects instead of position players'. Schulz + Boston Smith + Jeral Perez - i'm not sure that gets topped.

Charlotte stats can be deceiving. Without being there, it's hard to know if a hit would be an out somewhere else.
  15. CLICK AND FIND OUT!
  16. With their low payroll commitments for next year, they should be a threat to sign him in the offseason. Keyword being "should."
  17. Used to go to County Stadium once in a while on Saturday night, to see Sox and Brewers fight it out. Nothing special about it, but it did have great sight lines. There used to be a lot of fights almost every game. A lot of people would tailgate for 2-3 hours before the first pitch was thrown. I'm sure that had something to do with it.
  18. Just want to see this with the white Sox.
  19. We just need to reopen the filibuster to bank clicks. There is that balance of "you're our guy, and we have confidence in you, so we will keep penciling you on that spot until you break out" and "you're our guy and we need you to be productive. We're going to help you out by dropping you down in the order until you get back on track" We might not be the time to drop you down to Clean Up 2, but it's getting close.
  20. I see White Sox twitter is taking the Twins trade last night well...
  21. This seems like what Yankee or Dodgers fans expect after decades of stuff always working out in their favor. I like it.
  22. …or know what County Stadium was.
