Yet so many are deluded. This success was mostly down with outside talent. Sometime the next season doesn't work as well and then go back to rebuilding the rebuild of the rebuild. That's what poor organizations do. Short spurts of success. Sure people can talk about the big spending teams but many of their better players were home grown. They don't fall apart due to injuries. Too many bad owners in this game, way too many. Winning is a habit and so is losing. I doubt this team will ever have sustained success in my lifetime. A change in ownership probably doesn't keep Getz. People don't get promoted despite being inadequate in the previous job in the world of sports. This is the White Sox............so surreal.

You realize two seasons ago Reinsdorf led this team to the worst record in modern baseball history, right? The fact that you think any owner could do worse is fucking insane. No owner in the history of baseball was able to put together a worse team than Jerry Reinsdorf...

I feel like this organization will never go the traditional closer route again. Theyll just keep playing matchups and ignoring the lack of consistent success. They kinda tried it with Seranthony but ditched it when he faltered.

I like Thibodeax, but I really think DLine is more important now than LB

Smith seems to be bad after going a couple innings and wasn’t good as a starter this season in AAA. Feel like the bullpen is his future and nothing wrong with that.

Look at how long it took for Jerry to fire KW and Hahn. Getzy ain't going anywhere - perhaps not until after Reinsdorf hands over control of the franchise to Ishbia at the Railyards.

Yep, and he certainly knows he'll be walking into the lion's den at the meeting. I can't imagine what he could say that's going to change their mind on their opposition to Amtrak moving in and (possibly) the Sox moving out. Hopefully he's more diplomatic than tone-deaf Jerry ever has been. As Lip says, he and Amtrak have the upper hand because they don't need city approval for this. But I'd imagine they want to quell the outrage that's been getting lots of local media coverage over the last couple of weeks. If they go in offering transparency on the process, efforts to mitigate noise and pollution, and perhaps investments in the community, that might take the wind out of the sails of the effort to stop this.

I actually still believe a Cleveland sweep was the only true disaster. Plus they did show some fight while I was afraid they might not be competitive at all.
