Yeah this is what I'm seeing which makes me wonder about monday.

Who would Braden replace for defense? Grichuk, Doyle and Peters are all as good if not better than him defensively.
-
9/18 Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
Yeah, manage all in on the bye and get some much needed days off before the next series
-
Grant Taylor and Hagen Smith Starters next year?
For a 1-5 pick in THAT historic first round?

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
Fair enough about the ChiSox B&G. I still have my doubts that the stretch of 35th St around the stadium could become a thriving mixed-use district akin to something like the Baseball Village in St. Louis. Would a hotel there really succeed year round? Like a Hyatt or something? But, as you said, we'll never know how the area could have turned out if Jerry didn't block development.

Good point.

The reality is the playoffs have already started for the Sox. They have to play and manage all 9 of these just like that is the case. And if they do make the playoffs having to play with that pressure to just get there will definitely help them.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
The James Shields situation v 2.0

Grant Taylor and Hagen Smith Starters next year?
Was this the original topic? Missed it last night when I made my poll. I think both will be used as starters next season. Probably with openers most of the time. Grant as OP noted and I said in my post should be able to get stretched to about 140IP next year. He's going to finish around 100 IP this year.

Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
I just don't see any value to keeping him around. I can't see the Sox eating both him and Benny's contract. How the Sox didn't see his clear cut warning signs he is cooked is beyond me. Talk about falling in love with the back of the baseball card when all the metrics out there state the obvious.

An ominous future...
Author sheds MLB for claiming no salary cap is why they have blackouts: "What does this have to do with TV blackouts? As part of the league’s public relations campaign to gin up support for the cap/floor system, MLB has tied implementing a salary cap to eliminating TV blackouts. The suggestion is that the only way MLB could eliminate blackouts is by implementing a salary cap. This, however, is a complete farce. Blackouts directly reflect the media deals the league and its teams have struck with their broadcast partners. Regional sports networks (and now streamers) will pay a premium for exclusivity, which is only possible with blackouts. Similarly, national networks will pay a premium to ensure the games they air aren’t also available on regional sports networks, which would cannibalize their audience. In other words, blackouts exist only because the league and its teams want to make more money. It has nothing to do with the players objecting to a salary cap." Awful AnnouncingMLBPA director Bruce Meyer refutes MLB suggestion that TV...MLBPA executive director Bruce Meyer says the league could end blackouts whenever they want instead of blaming players.

In the Sun-Times today he acknowledged that his swing had become to "upper cut."

Can we take 22 runs in the next 3 games? I like that better

“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
From Thompson’s comments about being a “dreamer”, it seems that he envisioned just that, actually. Apartments and retail space, likely mixed use, as well as a hotel would have definitely led to more activity/development around that stretch. While it’s hard to justify going to the ChiSox Bar & Grill when it’s offering its concessions at stadium prices, any independent businesses neighboring it would have lower prices to compete in the market. Jerry likely knew this and didn’t want that. Bridgeport never had a chance to proof itself. Reinsdorf’s reluctance to commercialize the area guaranteed that.

Can, but literally never have.

It was written about at the time that JR wanted all income opportunities inside the park so the franchise would get all of the fans money.

I never said the Sox couldn’t afford it. 5-years, $75 million. All you need to do is look at history.

If the Tigers can sign a guy, the White Sox definitely can. That isn’t that much money.

Yeah, by far the best one in MLB.
