The one play I remember vividly about Benintendi happened when he was playing LF for KC against us. We had a man on second, base hit to left, runner going, obvious play at the plate, and he made what I then thought was the worst throw I have ever seen by a left fielder. Shortly after that KC sent him to Yanks, and then Sox signed him to a 5-year deal.

While I am still disappointed that the last play was blown up, it’s hard to deny that this offense is for real. Yesterday Collinsworth spent the entire game acting like the 49ers were the only good team on the field, when it was 28-28 he was talking about how great Purdy was and how he was the difference in the game. There was no difference in the game, it was tied! Both teams had pretty bad defenses on the field and in the end the Bears had like one more empty possession that cost them. I was stationed in South Dakota with the USAF in 1966 but a couple of buddies and me took a drive to the Twin Cities that summer for a Sox-Twins game, Twins won as they were coming off a trip to the World Series in 1965 while the Sox were a little better than a .500 team in 1966 finishing 83-79 after 3 great years winning 94, 98 and 95 games, Sox were probably trying to get used to new manager Eddie Stanky after the great run by Al Lopez. IIRC the BoSox lost over 100 games in 1966 but beat out our Sox in 1967 in the great 4 team pennant race of 1967. All 4 teams had a chance to win the pennant on the last weekend, most of us Sox fans remember how bad it turned out for us.

For a crew that called basically everything under the sun (and the most penalties on average per game), I don't know how they missed that.

This was one of the first games all year where he just got abused on crossers by Pearsall. He had been playing like the best corner on the team before this game. It can't help that he was sick and injured leading up to the game.

This was all without Trent Williams too. Our dline got manhandled by an oline without their best player.

The only way the Bears get the Rams is if the Rams lose to the Cardinals or Falcons. I don't see that happening, but you never know. If the Rams win out, they are locked into the 5 seed. If the Bears lose next week and the Eagles win, they will get the loser of the 49ers and Seahawks game.

Yeah they weren't ready on that play. The 49ers rushed 3 and got pressure immediately because the protection wasn't correct. I know they wanted to get the right play for 4th and 5, but wasting that timeout ended up burning them in the end. Oh well, hopefully Burden will be ok for the playoffs. Otherwise, losing this wasn't a huge deal. They played well, it just wasn't enough in the end.

A lot of over analyzing that final play. DJ Moore apparently is on the opposite side jumping and waving for the ball since he’s open. I doubt him running around the OF would be good for all of the pulls he seems to get.

Yeah I don’t buy it

If Moncada could play the OF, he could be a decent utility guy assuming he comes dirt cheap. That being said, I doubt the Sox have real interest in him.
