  1. Past hour

  2. anyone telegraphed this long is unlikely to happen, imo.
  3. Wasn't around in 1950 but as Southside has written things have changed a LOT over the decades. Not saying the changes were all for the good but that's the reality of things.
  4. This seems like a good idea. Honestly, I would probably dump Hays because you know he’s just going to get injured again.
  5. A lot less. Lodise or Bergolla or someone of that tier (who is not underperforming and undervalued, ie Oppor) should be the headliner. Bergolla and Mogollon seem like nice pieces to me but have a difficult path to the MLB roster and don't clearly show star upside the way that Carlson or Smith do (and Bonemer obviously but he's going no where). A guy whose upside is 'mid rotation starter' but has shown over 6 MLB seasons to be a 5th starter/swingman type is not returning a top 50 prospect and more.
  6. I think if the angels don’t get an overpay, they’ll hold onto him and trade him next deadline or in the offseason.
  7. We’ll see. Many teams in contention need starting pitching.
  8. lol every time I see tray start some s%*# this is my reaction
  9. Well Green Line sure found out who he is
  10. Do you think he will go for more or less than this package? Hagen Smith, Kyle Lodise, Colby Shelton
  11. I think he will go for less than what people have said, but still much more than I'd be willing to give lol.
  12. Because of one year? One injury being pretty "freak"?
  13. Adding two legit starters would be pricey.
  14. Not sure I want a guy who gets hit so hard it sounds like the fake ESPN contact sound.
  15. If they are actually relying on Jose Urquidy to provide meaningful innings, then they are toast.
  16. I’m calling a Carlson home run today.
  17. Definitely would rather have Detmers over Holmes due to age and years of control, but it all comes down to the cost. I do think Urquidy is the second starter already, and they try to obtain a catcher.
  18. This is all fair, but i disagree on the talent part. I've never really liked any of the Sox guys but Schultz. The Sox have given Bannister a bunch of guys who can't consistently find the zone and told him to help them find the zone. That's a really tall task and a recipe for disaster.
  19. Maybe Soxtalk will be wrong again on the value of a player. We’ve made trades the past 3-4 years where we ended up being underwhelmed due to us overvaluing guys. Or having different targets than ultimately received. Maybe we’ll be wrong on Detmers too.
  20. Pump the brakes on Schultz failed or the Sox failed Schultz. It's a little early to come to conclusions on a prized pitching talent, all of 22 years old, making his rookie debut.
  21. That's the whole equation.
  22. It could be if he goes for less than people think he’ll go for
  23. Today

  24. That's a funny bit but a missed opportunity for Getz to say that the league is cracking down on the use of arcane instruments in dugouts. Also, I'm having a premonition that 15,000 of these wands are going to end up on the field of play.
