Samuel Basallo is going to be a tremendous catcher for the O’s. I’d take him.

What the hell happened to Henderson? He went from looking like left handed Bobby Witt to Colson with less pop.

The Guardians play the most annoying brand of baseball. It's like they get off on bunts and bloops.

Reminds me quite a bit of our failed core. A bunch of guys that are just 2 WAR players at best when healthy. We had a lot more pitching at our peak but still.

Kinda insane to think without those four come from behind wins after the 7th the guardians would be pretty much dead and buried in the division. They figured out a way to win those games but damn.

Also it's amazing how all these can't miss Orioles prospects are run of the mill .700 OPS guys.

Cantillo has really stunk for them for his last 3 or 4 starts. Just a shame.

White Sox Winner ! Total Team Win
Venable had special praise for Smith (3-1), who was extended to a career-high three innings. The southpaw was pushed because he retired all nine hitters faced, meaning the opposition is 5-for-52 against Smith to go with a 0.56 ERA over his first 10 career outings. Smith earned the victory. But when he was informed postgame, didn’t seem overly moved by the individual accolade. “You get the win,” a reporter said to Smith. “Did I?” he asked with a smile. “You do,” the reporter responded. “We got the win,” Smith added with a little extra emphasis. “Ok, but you get the win,” the reporter continued with a laugh. “That’s cool, I guess,” Smith said. “As long as we win, it’s all good. Having Smith work that third inning made it possible for Taylor to move back one and expertly cover the seventh and eighth. “He’s really special,” said Venable of Smith. “When he’s in the zone, he’s hard to square up. Gets a ton of swing-and-miss. Gets chase. He’s impressive.” “I felt good,” said Smith, who has 23 strikeouts in 16 innings. “I think just being efficient. Just kind of getting through at-bats quick and it allowed me to go deeper in the game.”

4-0. I know wee have said this about the White Sox but I do think a version of this applies to the Guardians as well. Their lack of slug makes it hard for them to put together these huge winning streaks that they would need to put together to win the division.

4-0 Baltimore after 3. All set up for another miracle comeback by the Guards 🙄

White Sox Winner ! Total Team Win
This bullpen game also accomplished some very important thing for those who didn't like this game using relief pitchers before the game started. Burke will start the series opener against the Pirates with 2 extra days of rest. Now he will likely start the crucial 1st game of the series against the Guardians for those who were worried about our lesser starting pitchers getting those games.

New nickname for Downtown Railyard Sox
Isn’t the Quantum Campus being built on that site? At any rate, that location would be a disaster. At least Bridgeport is fairly centrally located. If they aren’t moving to the South Loop, then stay in Bridgeport.
