  2. I am right there with you on watching the ballgame...BUT...I get it...there aren't a lot of "fans" that grow up the way we did in this era! Not being critical...if someone is dropping as much money as they do at an MLB game these days and they expect more than a game...I understand it!
  3. Man I use to love that game, we actually had an online league at one point with posters from the board but that had to be like 15-20 years ago lol
  4. My best friend was a diehard Cub fan, and he preferred the Cell over Wrigley, to each his own.
  5. The tribute to Stacey King was nice but the game was not watchable. The Bulls looked like the Washington Generals against the Harlem Globetrotters. Inept is probably the best description I could think of: Lacking skill or competence, being bad at physical tasks, sports, trades, or jobs.
  6. Today

  7. Just think, back in the day this old guy went to games at Comiskey and Wrigley just to see Major League Baseball games and greats stars like Williams, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Mathews and so many more besides our guys like Fox Minoso and Aparicio and never gave the experience and all this other stuff a thought while only paying a 1.25 for a grandstand seat, I can’t believe I survived all these years without the “experience”.
  8. 33% is upper deck isolation/heights 33% lack of things to do in surrounding area/parking lots 33% low attendance most seasons leaves visitors a depressed feeling except for weekends totally different atmosphere 2008 G163 or this year's post season...at least 25 or so home games this season as well ramp were quantity in Old Comiskey but just a reminder of seat segregation in GRF suites in middle destroy coziness
  9. My college friends and I do a trip to a new stadium every summer as a way to keep a guaranteed trip on the books, up to around 20 parks now. I'll share an anecdote of a story I overheard of anyway group of guys doing this same thing at the same time, and their perspective on Rate Field. Two years ago I was at my gate at the San Francisco airport after doing a double dip of a Giants game Friday afternoon (incredible!) and Oakland game Saturday night (depressing!). Oakland's stadium experience was just so sad with the upper bowl totally closed off, fans were loud and proud, and just knowing there were like 8 games left in that building before they left for LV. Gate area at the airport is empty except for two other guys and I overhear them debating all of the stadiums they've been to, best to worst. One of them wholeheartedly said Rate Field was the worst fan experience and that he would never, ever want to return. Worse than any other stadium, including Oakland and Tampa. Now, this is an outsider perspective and not a fan of the team, so they didn't tailgate etc to get the full experience. And it's only one voice calling it the worst. But non-Sox fans are not champing at the bit to come see a game here. We have an opportunity to make this fan-friendly for our fans and make it an attractive place to visit.
  10. So then you can imagine the White Sox really did move to Tampa but hired about ten future big league GMs instead.

  12. The White Sox aren't going to use TAnne Murray as a starting SS. They would go with Acuna or Meidroth first and foremost. As bad as Colson's season ended, he was still 13th out of 26 in SS ratings. It would be a minor miracle if Colson could be out of bottom 5.
  13. Is there such a thing as the win-60, lose-60, and the season is decided by the other 42 in basketball? Because that was definitely one of the lose 60.
  14. He’s onto something. A team needs to hire him and pair their analytics department with his models to refine them.
  15. Hard to have a worse game than that.
  16. Yea. Likelihood of it happening only occurs in less than 1 of 88,627,143,895 Universes… according to The Guide.
  17. Teel will be fine. Colson Montgomery should reexamine what changes he may have made when he went to AZ after he was struggling earlier in the season. Maybe he had a back issue....maybe he simply could not see and react to pitches in time, and maybe he could not or refused to cut down on his swing with two strikes or adjust the plane of his swing through the zone. I imagine that the Sox/ Getz will want Colson to figure things out during Spring Training or after a few weeks into the 2027 season, or a move of some sort will be made. IMO,Tanner Murray could be a temporary stepping stone at SS until Roch is ready IF Colson continues as a strike-out king.
  18. Not feeling it for the Brew Crew thanks to a nightmare Madison gf. Draw blood.
  19. Boring. I’m outta here.
  20. "Still, there are differences here. I have a home reliance metric that looks at how much of a team's overall run differential is based on its play at home. It's expressed as an index, and Milwaukee's 125 tied with the Chicago White Sox for the highest in baseball. The Rays were more middle-of-the-pack at 104. The disparity comes at the plate. Milwaukee's 5.52 runs per game at American Family Field were considerably more than any team. The Brewers' offense was still good on the road, ranking sixth at 4.75. The Rays were 13th in home scoring and 15th on the road. Of course, it should be noted that while these numbers explain Milwaukee's greater degree of home reliance, its offense performed better than the Rays through either prism." espn.com/mlb
  21. SI2027 NFL Mock Draft 3.0: Gilberto Manzano’s Pick Predicti...Eight quarterbacks could come off the board in the first two rounds, but one signal-caller takes a dramatic fall in the top 32 picks.big falls for Manning, Dante Moore, Ryan Coleman Williams Chambliss the best player after Smith, but can he hold up to physicality (see Jayden Daniels)?
  22. 100% I share your opinions and many of your experiences.
  23. Though not downtown, I went to Forest Park. It's a huge city park....bigger than Central Park in NYC. There's a free zoo, free history museum, and free art museum plus a number of walking trails.
  24. Yesterday

  25. I thought the arch was cool. Seeing Busch and the Dred Scott courthouse imo was worth it. The museum underneath the arch I think makes the entire experience though. Lots of good history that one can spend a lot of time learning about down there.
  26. Surely, the walk rates have a lot to do with the rankings as well. And Antonacci's proclivity for hbp's.
