  2. It's a possibility, after 9/1 the Sox wall be able to carry 14 pitcher's total. Davis Martin will be back up for the Houston series. I assume there will be shuffling of pitchers back and forth, Tyler Davis and Tyler Gilbert come to mind.

  4. I think with LRJ the main issue is that $2M buyout. I don’t think a team is going to want to pay that on top of the rest of his salary for the season. That, and he’s just a ticking time bomb for another injury. Sure he’s playing well now, but it’s likely he’ll have another lower body injury before the end of the season or during the postseason if a playoff team claims him. It makes sense that the Mets would put him on waivers. I think though that they’ll end up having to pay the rest of his deal, they’ll end up buying him out, and he’ll have to find another team that’s willing to take him on in free agency (probably a team like the Angels or Rockies). It will probably end up being a 1 year, $2 million or something.
  5. Definitely does not feel like Poles is done. Sucks Dexter didn’t work out, has the look and size of a game wrecker, just never happened

  7. Royals final 3 games are at home against Cleveland. If they can figure out a way to get within 3 games of them by that series they have a chance. Of course, multiple other teams to jump as well.
  8. Oh by the way David Sandlin pitched a complete game (7 IP) 2 hit shutout with 1 BB & 9 K. He might've just catapulted himself into a September call up.

  10. Mets probably want something for him . Wouldn't surprise me if they pulled him back off waivers after no one meets their price.
  11. Dec. 19, 2025 Carlos Rodriguez has been named an assistant general manager with the White Sox, joining Josh Barfield and Jin Wong in similarly titled roles they have previously held in Chicago. They report to general manager Chris Getz, who has gone outside the organization to bring in all three executives. Rodriguez joins the White Sox after 16 seasons (2010-25) with the Tampa Bay Rays, including the last six as a vice president. He was promoted to vice president, assistant general manager in November 2022 after serving as vice president of baseball operations in 2022 and vice president of player development and international scouting from 2019-21. He left the Rays at the end of the ‘25 season to pursue other opportunities. Scott Merkin article Dec. 18th,2025 TRADE DETAILS White Sox get: OF Tristan Peters Rays get: Player to be named later or cash considerations Peters, 25, was designated for assignment by the Rays on Tuesday to make room for the addition of left-hander Steven Matz. Peters slashed .266/.355/.429 last season for Triple-A Durham with 28 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 76 RBIs, 73 runs scored, 65 walks and 11 stolen bases over a career-high 136 games. He also appeared in four games with the Rays after making his debut on Aug. 8 at Seattle, finishing 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts. Notice how close the dates are even though the Sox got Peters the day before Rodriquez was hired I'm pretty sure he had a lot to do with the Peters acquisition.
  12. Vargas was just 24-25 and a year removed from Top 100 lists, Castillo on the descent side of his 30’s and paid far more than his production level. 2022-23 were his last objectively strong/solid seasons. Two totally different trades. It doesn’t automatically mean that they have the Midas touch all of a sudden. Especially with pitching.
  13. For some reason my machine connects to soxtalk tonight at my place. prior to tonight only when i go to the library does the connection work. Since I've been gone basically all season who has been the hated poster on here? Interesting to me that nobody really noticed I've been gone: u'd think caulfield or my brother rice brethren would have noticed no more greg.
  14. We don't know if it's a bad trade. Was Miguel Vargas a bad trade? You certainly told us it was, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over, and you know what? You were wrong each time you did that. Because they didn't trade for a prospect to plug him in and have him bat .400. They wanted a hitting prospect who they could work with. Same with Castillo. They're working with him on pitch selection, probably a few tweaks to his delivery. They're going to make the post-season. Maybe they get him repurposed by then. You screaming at the first 5 games is ridiculous. Keep doing it, I don't care. But that's not an accurate reading of the trade.

  16. It’s going to be glorious watching our Sox beat the s%*# out of all the divisional teams who are chasing them. The White Sox Reapers!!

Nice to see one of the arms have a shut down preformance on the farm, finally. Might see Sandlin up again soon if they aren’t willing to give Thorpe a go for whatever reason.
  20. I'm not going to say we are a lock to make the playoffs but I think a historic and unprecedented collapse would have to happen to prevent us from making it. We are 72-63. 27 games left. If we go 14-13, very likely given the schedule, we will be at 86-76. I actually think there is a very realistic path to 90 wins.
  21. Division is well out of reach but the wild card isn't. It's possible for them to sneak into the third wild card spot but it would require every other team competing with them to collapse.

I am going to London to see a football game at Wembley in a couple weeks. Would like to be close to the stadium and not too far from the airport. Please give me some travel tips. Do you have a flight itinerary from KC International to London that you've heard of I must take? Early plan was to stay at Hotel London Wembley Park. Is that place OK or a dump? Am I close to their version of Broadway and is it a must to go to a show or two. Also do I need their money or are my credit cards OK to use. Do they take US currency or no way? Do they have Uber and Lyft? Is it dangerous in London? Is the food acceptable? And will I be able to handle cramped coach for 8 hours? Thank u in advance. Some folks here prolly have been to London a lot. Please advise me. Thank u and go Sox.
