  2. Well, @Y2Jimmy0, you did say on the FutureSox pod that once Bonemer gets that outfield glove we should be ready for a call up...
  3. Mully was very vanilla. I liked him as he is a southside guy. He and Haugh were a bland listen but it did the job. Neither really add anything.
  4. Actually getting a little tired of the schedule excuse. Maybe don’t lose a home series to the reds then? If you want to be a playoff team, sorry, sometimes you have to play well against good teams.
  5. Glad I went to be early on this one, seems I missed nothing new. Kolson now at 178 K's, 0 for 13 with 9 K's in his last 3 games Mune now at 142 K's, 2 for 12 with 9 K's in his last 3 games.
  6. Our bullpen is taxed and we need help badly. I would bring up Thorpe and let him take Urquidy's place. I would bring up Schultz and send schweitzer down (I know he only has one more option left) and make Schultz the long guy. I would also find a fake injury to Brazoban and bring someone else up who can eat innings. Hopefully martin comes back end of the month and begins to look somewhat like the 1st half Martin.

  8. I think there will be teams dumping players for the last month to save a couple of bucks. Even teams like StL and Pitt which are 5 & 7.5 back might be ready to toss in the hat. on 9/1. Martin will be back 8/28, he could be a huge help if he can keep it together. 9/1 I think Thorpe will be called up, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sox let Acuna go.

  10. Uriquidy looked a bit like Sweaty Freddy in the first inning, sweat pouring down his face. The Sox have been resilient all season, they will put this loss behind and move on, that's what they do. Let's see if the guy's slumping can start to snap out of it in tonight's game.
  11. I know, anecdotes make you pretty ignorant
  12. I'm trying to stay positive, but relying on magic and miracles is not a winning strategy. I'm seeing Antonacci and Miedroth trying to slug instead of just being contact hitters that they are. What to do with Mune and Colson? Bring Bonemer up and move Vargas to first? Send Colson to AZ. for another tutoring session? Something has got to give with them. This is a legit pennant race now, not just a fun turnaround year.
  13. They're not going to pull Castillo from the rotation with all that money still due in 2027.
  14. Who could he have acquired and what prospect(s) would have been required?
  15. Did you expect anything else? Merkin is a shill for the team.
  16. Pretty telling that Merkin’s article covering today’s game had no mention of our starting pitching concerns. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-lose-in-blowout-to-rangers
  17. Torrens and Acuna should both be starting for us here down the stretch. That solution is plain as day. Billy Beane would have seen it from a mile away and why Getz didn’t take this course of action should be a fireable offense.
  18. After an 0-3 night, Gonzalez's OPS drops to .583.
  19. That’s a great analogy. 😆 I could see a miracle 1% version where everything clicks but the most likely outcome is them getting 2020ed in 3.
  20. Question answered as far as I’m concerned. Pitching Options: Shane Smith Jose Urquidy Drew Thorpe Thorpe is really our only hope remaining IMO for the time being.
  21. Colson is one of the strangest young dudes I’ve seen. He is either on point and dangerous or is an automatic strikeout that looks like a shell. And it seems like he is really fragile in falling back into the “lost” category even when he finds it. Recent example: He clicked and for a 7 game stretch was hitting something like .330 / .385 / .560 and then BAM - after one at bat he seemed to completely lose all confidence in himself and his approach. I do think that the offense is feeling the weight of the team only having basically two reliable starters. It’s taxing not only the pen but also our hitters. Think of it - imagine knowing that to win 3 of 5 games, you’ll have to likely score 7+ runs and are likely to need to come from behind multiple times each game. There’s enough pressure as it is for a young club contending down the stretch as it is - add in a factor like this and I can see why they may be choking in big RISP spots. This is another reason why I think it is vital that they get the rotation stabilized during this upcoming stretch because in doing so, I think it will help ease the pressure on the rest of the team as a whole. It’s also why I’m pissed at Getz for not getting us another SP.
  22. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/08/24/chicago-white-sox-munetaka-murakami-colson-montgomery-2/ Rangers 11, White Sox 2: Luisangel Acuña pitched - Sox Ma...Between a starting pitcher who didn’t have it from the get-go and a lineup that fell silent after the third inning, tonight was the pessimist’s case against the White Sox. They’ve lost games by bigger
  23. I reached out to Jeff to see what kind of reaction he's been getting. Here's what he wrote back: "I have gotten resoundingly positive feedback. It's been wonderful! I've heard from people at The Score agreeing with the pipeline issue. Others say the show is doomed already. I certainly don't wish for that, but it might happen."
  24. Pretty simple scouting report: “Don’t swing.” Just gotta take care of business the next two games with Kay and Burke while hoping the Halos can bring one down. Then operation SWEEP THE CENTRAL resumes. We really need to get our rotation straightened out because it’s embarrassing to coin toss at best having a chance to be competitive in 3 of every 5 games. They should be rolling with Kay / Burke / Castillo / Fedde / Thorpe for the next five to see if that gives us more stability. Then next time through, depending on results, they’ll have to plug Martin in for Castillo or Thorpe. Getting the rotation back in order will be the key factor in if they’re able to complete the mission at hand and will also tell us if they’ll even be an actual threat in the playoffs or not. Of course, if good ol Getzy had gotten another starter - we wouldn’t be up against a wall with such limited options. Oh well… onward we go!
