    Right-handed savage.
  3. Today

  4. Roch is too advanced for High A. Let him have a couple weeks at AA before the end of the year.
  5. Especially considering the player we got sucks and is owed money next season.
  6. I notice you don’t mention Ozzie. Easy to forget since he hasn’t been in the news recently. 😎
  7. I thought the prices we paid were a bit steeper than you’d like, but not really all that shocking. It was a seller’s market for sure.
  8. Andrew Benintendi is DHing. Murakami might not be on this team in two years. Real hitters don't get blocked. Is he a real one? I dunno.
  9. Three Padres now with Sox ties in the lineup, plus Brooke Fletcher's husband All three homered One game behind Phillies/AZ After San Diego signed Hays, Stammen almost predicted what would happen later in the game. The Padres manager said, "He's a good right-handed bench bat…one of those guys that, in his career, has hit lefty pitching really well. So he's somebody that we can bring in to pinch-hit against a tough lefty, or someone that we can start against a lefty."
  10. I think the decision just came down to reliability. It was either him or Grichuk and only one of those two seems to be hurt all the time. It’s too bad because I think Hays could be useful, but if you go with him and he gets hurt again you’re back to Junior Perez or something. I thought it was a nice signing, his body just didn’t cooperate.
  11. Hopefully so, that guy rocks
  12. He just hit a HR in his Padres debut
  13. Miserable day weather-wise for fans. A lot of fans stayed but some left during the delay. Sox should seriously consider a retractable dome stadium. Makes all the sense.
  14. You've just described Tony La Russa. Or hey, how about every Sox fan's favorite manager, AJ Hinch, who is leading the start-of-season AL Central favorite Detroit Tigers to a sub-.500 record.
  15. Much needed day off tomorrow after a ton of BP time because of the short innings from Schultz and the rain today. I'll take 2 of 3 from Cleveland under trying circumstances. They stepped up.
  16. Sox should have won 2 of those games but pissed them away because of bullpen meltdowns. With a stronger relief corps now, hopefully that is the difference.

In 2024, the White Sox had one position player with at least 100 plate appearances (out of 17) who cleared 100 OPS+ or were above average. Another 3 cleared 94. This season, 9 (of 12) have cleared 100 OPS+, and the three who haven't are Quero, Romo and Acuña.
  18. I've watched so much baseball over the years that the losses in a season like this where its been a gift don't bother me. I'm enjoying it for the most part except for our fans freaking out and constantly panicking. I just don't understand how anyone panics over 1 start from Castillo. He'll have about 30 more starts between now and next year unless a lot of next season is cancelled. It would be great to get in the playoffs but it's not a given . If we do ,cool ,it would be nice to win a playoff series but honestly if there was a poll now that asked do you think the Sox will be playing in the World Series I'm pretty sure only a small minority of fans here are delusional enough to think that will happen. I honestly though that our chances were just about the same before the trade deadline as after it. But it was necessary to show that you'd take a shot at improving the team. We'll see how it goes.
  19. Detroit makes me a tad nervous. They swept us last series in Detroit. We’ll see how our Sox fare against them on their turf again this coming weekend.
  20. The Tigers racked up like +65 in 6 different blowout wins over the last 10 or so days.
